For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world; but that the world should be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name [person] of the only begotten [uniquely born] Son of God." (John 3:16-18)

I reject the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
Reason? Because he/it doesn't exist.
See how easy that was?
Why are atheists so loathe to admit they reject God?
Hypothesis: They don't want the blame if they're wrong.

Am I afraid of being blamed if I am wrong?
NO!
Why?
I have absolutely no belief that your god exists.
I have zero worry that I am wrong [on this topic].
I have absolutely no concern that I am wrong.
Also.
If I was worried about retribution from your god...
Why would I regularly say (and mean it) that IF your god were real and
I found out I would immediately declare war on it?
Does that sound like someone who is frightened of your god and worried about retribution?
Your hypothesis is wrong. I refute it.

It depends on what is meant by rejecting and denying. We don't believe in god because we see no reason to think he does exist.
We don't secretly do believe in god but then say that we don't. That doesn't even make any sense. If we do secretly believe in god then presumably we believe that "denying" or "rejecting" god is going to get us into hell. So why would we say we don't believe if we secretly do believe?

Nevertheless if you were right it only reinforces my point.
It's nonsensical to suggest I am afraid of a being while I am openly declaring war on it.

YOU answer the question.
In case you forgot the question, here it is again.
Why are atheists so loathe to admit they reject God?
I don't believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster and I have no problem rejecting him/it. Yet every single time an atheist is charged with rejecting God, they start into all kinds of excuses and 'reasons' why they cannot reject God.

I am not 'loathe to admit' anything.
I/we just don't think the term applies.
You are implying and imagining all kinds of motivations that simply aren't there.
The reason I don't 'admit' to 'rejecting' god is because the idea of 'rejecting' god
as I understand it makes no sense. And I am a pendent.
I need no other reason than that.

They miss the part which hits both sides. Rejection just seems so harsh for them, because it says they had to consider it in the first place!
