Reminds me of an interview the philosopher Elizabeth Anscombe once gave (I think it was on Canadian television).

The interviewer, a passionate young lady fired up with feminist ideals, built up the fact that Anscombe was such a successful woman philosopher in a field dominated by men. Right at the end of the interview, the young lady asked Anscombe if she thought it wasn't time the Church ordained women in this age of sexual equality.

"Oh no, no. Whenever history has allowed the ordination of women, we've had ... orgies!"

    Priceless.

Yep. Apparently "good" actually means "in accord with God's will", and "religion" means "any normative view or other". Where does one go to get certified as a stipulative definer? Do you get a special badge to go along with the decoder ring?

Or maybe when I stop reading things in the forums like " well ussually guys talk about these things".

    Get the point?

Bbarr, You should see the list of back tithes that you owe.

Everybody is talking down to everybody on these forums. Don't be so sensible.

Well, this is the "insulting christians" thread, so I guess we were warned that we would be insulted by christians. I love it that Ivanhoe thinks agitating for the equal consideration of the interests of women constitutes some sort of weakness on the part of a man. It is part and parcel of his deeply misogynistic worldview.

Well, Ivanhoe is a good chap, really. He just gets a bit confused as to why women don't like being treated like chattel.
