See Ghost?
Not all the Christians are appalled at everything I wrote.
We will never be objects of worship; God isn't turning us into that; instead, God is glorified through us by what He manages to make of us.
That is right.
And what He makes of us is by His own life which He dispenses into us.
He doesn't , like, just make more glorious angels. Rather He makes sons whom He the begotting Father has begotten by His life in Christ the Son flowing to us as the Holy Spirit . The Triune God is involved in carrying out this eternal plan.
God is not a means towards our ends, where we get what we want by using God; God is getting out of us glory by turning us from sinners to saints.
Amen. From sinners to saints and sons. This a plan He had before the universe was created:
"Even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and within blemish before Him in love, predestinating us untp sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will." (Ephesians 1:4,5)
To produce sons was His purpose in eternity before He created the universe (befpore the fundation of the world). God's good pleasure in His plan was the basis probably for which He created EVERYTHING else.
We are on a very solid basis for hope.
Poor, poor atheism. It has no basis for hope sinking in quicksand of darkness.
The byproduct of that is God's life in us,
Yes, it is all wrapped up in God infusing His life into man.
He redeemed us FOR this infusing of His life into us.
not the prime product where we get to use God as a stepping stone for us to be lifted by our efforts, by our righteousness, because we are all of that and so much more.
Amen.
It was more than we could ask or think.
Besides, we had not been created yet when God had this good pleasure in His heart to have us as sons in Christ.
Jesus manages to save us all not because He struck down the enemy of our souls, He took the devil's best shot, man's cruelty and endured all of that then taking on our sins suffering the wrath of God in our place, and through that won our redemption for us.
What a wonderful Savior.
There is no pride on our part that plays even the smallest part in our salvation; it is all God's, those who are full of themselves, those that think they are righteous in their own right will never experience Christ in them, you have to humble yourself and admit our sins against God and man for that, repenting of them, the proud will not.
Amen.
See Ghost?
I want to follow this brother.
I want to believe like he believes.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidGod saves sinners, Jesus came for the guilty. I have to admit I need a Savior! Those who don’t think they need saved will never come to Him for forgiveness, neither those who think God would be lucky to have them, pride is a horrible thing.
Ask Kelly directly if he believes God's eternal plan was for people like you to be deified.
Good luck with that.
@kellyjay saidStill you can't address the question. Why bother to post anything?

@Ghost-of-a-Duke
Yes, people like me.
He predestinated people as bad as me to be presented beore HIm without blemish, holy, in love, from before the foundation of the world.
I remind myself of this unbelievable grace and mercy by calling myself sonship.
"Predestinating us unto sonship through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will." (Eph. 1:5)
Notice the plural "us" there. I mean including Paul who was a formerly blasphemer and persecutor of the church. (1 Tim. 1:13). As long as it is called today, there is hope for all. Are you bitterly jealous about that? Don't be.
Best of all all sinners may come as He said "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and him who comes to Me I shall by no means cast out." (John 6:37)
Other than little sneering jibes you really don't have anything else to offer. Do you?
Ask Kelly directly if he believes God's eternal plan was for people like you to be deified.
How do you like this Kelly?
Two people like us.
This is the darkness of the heart that thinks only "good people" deserve to be recipients of Christ's salvation.
Have you seen such blindness ?
Two people like us, he snorts.
Doesn't it sound like the prodigal son's older brother, who refused to go into the celebration out of sheer self righteousness?
Let me see. Yes, here it is. Its is still there right in my NT.
"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. Not of works that no one should boast." (Eph. 2:8,9)
Interesting. It's still right there.
"People like you and Kellyjay" [paraphrased] he snorts.
@sonship saidrajk999 absolutely reminds me of the prodigal son’s brother - the lack of love for his father (God,) the lack of love for his brother (fellow believer,) the self-righteousness and continual attempts to earn his father’s approval when Christians already have that by accepting Jesus Christ, and the endless focus on self.Ask Kelly directly if he believes God's eternal plan was for people like you to be deified.

Sad.
