John 8:32 - and you will know the TRUTH, and the TRUTH will make you free."
Ironically Jesus said he was the Truth. So that means he can set you free of all your problems if you come to him, but you must believe in your heart that he will do it.
John 14:6 - Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the TRUTH, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.
I believe him, and I also believe the other God men that came along to spread the good word. The general rule is to be nice. The Golden Rule is another universal truism that many of the worlds religions have taught. I like all the hot shots in Religion.
Jesus is not a baby, but was he ever a baby? Are you telling me baby Jesus does not exist? Why do you believe in Jesus so much, but deny the Baby Jesus?

Jesus said that he was the TRUTH. He also said that the TRUTH would set us free, in other words HE would set us free. In fact he has set me free fom my sin. This implies HE is the TRUTH.
Originally posted by LemonJello this is the clear response to the posed argument -- and i think it's logically a perfectly fair response.
the structure of the argument is essentially
1. jesus said he is the truth
2. jesus said the truth will set you free
3. therefore jesus will set you free
so 3 follows if 1 and 2 are true, and 1 and 2 are true presumably only if jesus wasn ...[text shortened]... to sit down and read more with a completely open mind (this does not mean just the bible)...
So you don't think that if 3 is true, it would make 1 & 2 true as well?

first, i should clarify that in my earlier post what i meant to say was that 3 follows if the statements 'jesus is the truth' and 'the truth will set you free' are true, and presumably these statements are only true if jesus was not lying or mistaken.
So you don't think that if 3 is true, it would make 1 & 2 true as well?
i am not sure why you ask this question because it doesn't follow logically from anything that i posted.
my point was simply that saying 'jesus = truth' is true because jesus said it is true is not a very convincing argument. it presupposes that jesus wasn't either lying (with intent to deceive) or mistaken (with no intent to deceive). so the natual response is to ask something along the lines 'but how can you prove that jesus wasn't lying or mistaken?'
