I cannot boast about my righteousness as you, my salvation is a gift of God unearned by me, so my boasting is in the Lord not in me, not in my righteousness, but it is the gift of my redeemer. If you feel like you've earned your place with God than what you have, you have earned, it isn't going to get you anything, but maybe some praise of man and self exaltation, your bragging before man and God in the end meaningless.
