As a propitiatory sacrifice and to give his perfect life for the life that was fortified by Adam (originally also perfect) This satisfied the legal requirement that God had stipulated ( a life for a life) and also provided a basis for anyone wishing to appeal to God on the basis of the value of that propitiatory sacrifice (having their sins/mistakes,imperfections) blotted out. Christ was thus able to 'buy back', that which had been fortified by Adam through futility and humankind then had a new 'father', in the Christ. But here it gets a little deep and well, 'solid food belongs to mature people' not those who need, 'milk'.
This is not the same as arbitrarily killing children and mothers as they huddle in schools as your fiends the Israelis did or 'shooting tin can with sawn off shotguns' as the US Army did in Iraq. How you could fail to understand the difference, I cannot say.
You may also want to research whether Christ actually died on a cross and I think you just might find that its rather unlikely that he did. But don't tell the Christians, they get upset when you expose the pagan origin of the cross.
