Yes for more than 8 years, how about you?

What does that have to do with the question I asked you?

I am fimiliar with our previous discussions. None of your theories explain why people from different cultures have a similar sense of right and wrong. Divine command theory does. Evil people will use anything to justify their evil actions, even the Bible.

Don't answer this if you don't want to ~ because I won't be answering any questions about my wife ~ but, does your wife know that you find rape jokes funny?

20 years

Perhaps your wife is more submissive than mine if you think wives always listen to their husbands.

Yes, my viewpoint does address that and offers an explanation.

So, do Christian men need the Bible to tell them that raping their wives is wrong?

The only reason why you think it is wrong is social norms.

Maybe you misunderstood the question I asked you, it has absolutely nothing to do with me having a submissive wife. Go back and read it again.

Well, of course, I said much more than that, as you well know. I have no reason to go over it all again. But even if I do pick up your disingenuous ball and run with it, preoccupation with ancient Hebrew mythology and folklore is a 'social norm' among Jews, Christians and Muslims.

So basically your morals are based on the 'social norms' that you prefer.

I refer you back to the discussions we had where you carefully blanked out a lot of what I said to explain my view. I explained the source of morality, its purpose, how it changes, what happens when moralities conflict, its relationship with law and culture, government, geography, history, evolution and religion too. The more time I took to type out my explanations, the more you simply didn't acknowledge them, and the more you then [later] seemed to just pretend that those discussions hadn't taken place. Go back and check out what I said if your interest is sincere.

Ghost of a Duke: So you think marital rape is a joking matter?

Aside from your sister [are you sticking by that story you told about her, by the way?], have you ever known or worked with rape victims? Any voluntary work, as a Christian, perhaps? Any experience of the aftermath of rape and its impact on women?

I know exactly which subjective opinions your moral preferences are based upon, since I have read what you have said after all.

I have already explained to you what I found amusing about whodey's question. It was not rape. I don't think rape is funny.

Whenever you attempt to paraphrase my views, it sounds like you haven't got a clue. I think you do it for effect.

I find it intruiging that you so vehemently oppose any suggestion that your morality boils down to personal preference, when it is so plainly obvious that it does.
