I was called and I answered that call. It's an honor to serve. I'm making sure that you and yours are sleeping safe tonight. I'm standing on the wall, guarding the good people from ouija boards and sexually suggestive cartoon characters.

yes i'll give it a go.

How to fit representatives of all the animals in the world into an ark?

picture, if you can, a boat 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high. thats a pre ...[text shortened]... lly but do believe in the creation account then why one story and not the other?

n/a

a) how did the animals, once released, would have had a serious genetic bottleneck (i.e. all the genetic variation in the world contained in those two organisms), how did the animals survive when microbes would evolve to kill them very quickly.

b) plants can't survive for 40 days and nights underwater. don't be dumb. better still, fill your bathtub with water and submerge a plant in it for 40 days. I bet your just left with mushy floaty plant.

c) when did it happen? how fast would the animals need to run / swim to colonise the land. Come to think of it New Zealand is miles from anywhere - how did flightless birds get here? Did Noah drop them off?

d) what happened to all the water?

There was another Noah's ark thread here a while back.
I never did find out how all the animals were collected and sent home again, but I was told that all the water either didn't matter, or it simply drained away ...

EDIT: Almost forgot, the rainwater was in a cloud above the Earth before it came down in the Flood, protecting the people from the Sun's rays, which is why they lived so long in those days.

It all evaporated. That is why the sky is blue.

If so how do you explain:
How to fit representatives of all the animals in the world into an ark? It is interesting that insects and plants dont seem to be mentioned that much.
How they subsequently s ...[text shortened]... account literally but do believe in the creation account then why one story and not the other ?
For you athiests that don't believe in God. now if they found the Noah's ark or even the Ark of the covenent I doubt it would change your mind about God still.

Look.
Nobody is saying that there wasn't a really big flood, we have really big floods even now and I'm sure it looks like end of the world to those people caught in them.
But 30,000 feet of water covering the entire planet!?!?
There's just not enough water to do that.
