@thinkofone saidHe asked you a valid question.
As a way of avoiding admitting that his assertion that "no scriptural backing for such a belief...that people are or can be good enough to be accepted by such a God" was wrong, KJ opted for the ad hom wrapped in a red herring.
And so it goes...
That's what happens in forum.

@fmf saidOne of your problems is that you fail to see that doctrine is doctrine, because they do answer thorny questions in life. You are a backsliding Christian by your own admission and call yourself something else now. You are a backslider because you left a faith, what you call yourself now is completely up to you, but by doctrine you are defined as a backslider among other things.
Your spammy blocks of recited doctrine have been INSTEAD of an answer. You seem paralyzed by your pride. If you said something you cannot explain, just say so.
Nothing about my answers reside in my pride, again doctrine says I'm a sinner and in need of a savior who I have accepted in Jesus Christ. You have repeatedly said that you want to be defined by what you want to be called, and you being the sole source of truth in your life demands this. I don't happen to think I am the sole source of truth in my life, the universe, and neither are you though your pride suggests otherwise.
@kellyjay saidIf a Hindu left their faith and became a Christian, would they also be classed as a backslider?

@ghost-of-a-duke saidWhy wouldn't they to the Hindu faith?

@ghost-of-a-duke saidEvidently GoaD is so dim-witted that he thinks that an ad hom wrapped in a red herring constitutes a "valid question". Or he's trolling as usual.
He asked you a valid question.

At least his second comment is correct: THIS is what happens in this forum.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidDepending on how you define religion yes!
So you accept all religions are equal?!
Even Christianity if all it is, is just another religion it is no different than any other.
The thing that separates it from everything else is Jesus Christ, not the Jesus Christ who is only between the ears of those that don't know Him, but the real Jesus Christ the Son of the Most High God. People have argued here on what the definition of a Christian is, but all of our definitions reduce it to nothing more than the next religion. The separation comes through Jesus Christ who was, is, and always will be.
@kellyjay saidPutting aside what you personally believe is "the reality of God" based on your "doctrine is doctrine" approach, you were asked if Ghost of a Duke's hypothetical makes any moral sense to you and you said yes. Explain.

Please explain the way and extent it makes sense to you.
This is not a question where saying "doctrine is doctrine" is an answer.
The question is about your moral sensibilities.
You conceded that Ghost of a Duke' hypothetical makes some moral sense.
Can you say why?
@kellyjay saidBandying about the word "backslider" is just dodging. The question you are desperately trying to sidestep is being posed by an agnostic atheist.

@fmf saidPlease, when you get asked a question do put aside everything you know or believe to be true to answer the question? Give me a break, you got an answer, accept it or not.
