From communism, theology, methodology, mythology, scientism, truisms, barbarisms, capitalism, anthologies, biologies, pantheism, atheism, socialism, and all of the other isms and ologies, we sure spend a lot of time focusing on the bits and pieces to fill our worldviews with what we think molds the big picture without really thinking about the big picture.
Thoughts 🙂 whatever you'd like, I will open the floor!

These are not "bits and pieces to fill our worldviews" they are terms to describe beliefs about different principles, without them we couldn't communicate our thoughts about them to others very well.
As far as "thinking about the big picture" goes I believe everyone does that at least once in awhile.
@kellyjay saidTo give your OP some context/reference point, what is the definition of "the big picture" that you have in mind for this discussion?

That purpose is made up of all manner of nuts and bolts. These shape my worldview.
As for what "really thinking about the big picture" means, I don't know what you have in mind, KellyJay.
If "the big picture" equals one's "purposes in life", then, of course, living one's life can swing from an extreme focus on the nitty-gritty in the here and now at certain times, to expansive philosophical contemplation at other times, when circumstances allow.
@fmf saidIf the big picture is just our own lives, are we not leaving so much more out of it?

@mchill saidPresumably, by referring to other people's ideas and principles as "bits and pieces", KellyJay is trying to be mildly disdainful or dismissive, but he appears averse to defining his own terms.
