The apostle Paul said, "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

(2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV)
Did the apostle Paul actively try to make people despise him?

I'm a hard-core hiker. When the path is unclear, people have walked off cliffs.

How can we know that the gods aren't hungry and want to eat souls? Walk off the cliff and find out?
Don't put your faith in gods. Put your faith in Christ Jesus, the good shepherd.

Jesus said, “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep."

(John 10:11 NKJV)

He actively persecuted Christians at one point and I imagine it made some of them despise him. Upon becoming a Christian, he seems to have changed in some ways, and the Jews became the ones to despise him and the Romans put him in prison.

As an apostle, did Paul actively try to make people despise him?

I am a different kind of Christian and some do not understand my methods because it is not their way.

When you say you are "a different kind of Christian", are you acknowledging that your attempts to actively get people to hate you are "different" from the teaching of Christ and Paul and are thus "not their way"?

I can't say what was their active intent.

So you think Christ and Paul might have been trying to actively make people despise them?

Is this a widely held tenet of Christian theology?

This appears to be the doctrine that RJHinds is propagating here.

No, I did not say that at all. Nor did I say I am actively trying to make people despise me, only those people that refuse to believe and put their faith and trust in Christ. I wish to put them to the test so that they will make a decision. If they remain an unbeliever, I wish that they will despise me in the place of Christ.

How is actively trying to make unbelievers despise you going to make them "make a decision" to become believers?

Do you believe you are following Christian doctrine with all this stuff?

R.J.H. can speak for hmself. F.M.F. can do the same. One man is not here to dish the Apostle Paul, much less the Person

and Work of Jesus Christ. For anybody to even suggest such motives (or to condone then) is despicable and infantile!

RJHinds said he hopes to get approval and love from all believers for speaking out for the truth. Are you saying that his 'I enjoy trying to offend [unbelievers] so they despise me... Let them hate me, like Jesus was hated' approach is not going to earn your love and approval as a fellow Christian?

Sir F, your feigned innocence adds nothing. Your pool hall bank shot off Hinds' hind quarter is laughable. Idle and empty words all, for which one day you shall be held accountable. When that day comes (as most assuredly it will) please place a thick shingle in your dark brown colored pants.
