So that Pentecostals can raise themselves above the throng.

So now we discover that you are one of those people who thinks no true atheists exist and that we are all closet Christians. To be clear, you should have titled your thread"
Rapture - ? for the pretend atheist".

So what is your opinion of Muslims? Are they closet Christians too, or do you accept their explanation for speaking in tongues as sensible?

Even worse, it says 'scripture' not 'Bible', so it is up to the reader to decide what is, or is not 'scripture'. The writer of course probably did not think his letter in which he wrote that would ever be called 'scripture'.

Here are some things that you should refrain from doing if you really believe that all scripture is divinely inspired:

* eat fruit from a tree less than five years old. [Lev. 19:23]
* cross-breed animals. [Lev. 19:19]
* grow two different plants in your garden. [Lev. 19:19]
* wear a cotton-polyester blend T-Shirt. [Lev. 19:19]
* read your horoscope. [Lev. 19:26]
* consult a psychic. [Lev. 19:31]
* cut your hair. [Lev. 19:27]
* trim your beard. [Lev. 19:27]
* are tatooed. [Lev. 19:28]
* plant crops for more than seven years. [Lev. 25:4, Ex. 23:10-13]
* bear a grudge. [Lev. 19:17]
* collect interest on a loan. [Ex. 22:24]
* insult a leader. [Ex. 22:27]
* mistreat a foreigner. [Ex. 22:21, 23:9]
* spread false rumors. [Ex. 23:1]
* drive a Mercury. [Ex. 23:13]

The Islam religion was made by the Catholic Church to fight against the other Christians of the time.

Don't forget that Jesus came to save us from the law that is impossible to keep.

Doesn't sound impossible, just a bit more...err, hairy 😀

Those laws just sound like getting the right habituation

So you have said before (though you seemed rather reluctant to discuss it).

But you haven't answered my question: are all Muslims closet Christians? ie do you believe that they all believe in Christianity by for some reason deny doing so?

So when God gave the law to those poor Old Testament folk, he was just being mean. He knew that not one of them was capable of keeping it. (or were people more inherently good back then?).

Do you ignore all Biblical commandments and instructions based on the same excuse, or do you pick and choose whatever suits you?

Well, I this discussion is over with all do respect. You call look for yourself. We can't keep the law that is why he gave us Jesus.

3.Isaiah 64:6
All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Jesus Said to Love the Lord and neighbor and then we would probably keep the commandments. But still if you break one you break them all and then you are in need of a savior.
