It's a 25 year old local story, containing only allegations.
And this is different from the priest abuse cases - how?
You really don't know? Because the major part of the Catholic scandal occured just a few years ago, it remains unresolved, and numerous priests have been convicted and numerous bishops have admitted to the charges ...[text shortened]... ounty without affecting my county's system. Not so for parishes under Cardinal Law and others.
Check your data again.
it remains unresolved
In what sense?
numerous priests have been convicted and numerous bishops have admitted to the charges. Numerous legal settlements have occured. It's also a nationwide issue since the molestations have occurred nationwide.
None of which changes if you replace "priests" with "teachers" and "bishops" with "administrators".
There can be a raging sex scandal in the education system in a neighboring county without affecting my county's system.
1. You can replace "county" with "diocese" and the statement will still hold.
2. Teachers don't move between counties?

Show me numbers that demonstrate that a 10% molestation rate among boys in the U.S. is accurate and not merely possible. I can't imagine that it is.
Anyhow, here's another snippet:
In the adult retrosptective study, victimization was reported by 27 percent of the women and 16 percent of the men. The median age for the occurrence of reported abuse was 9.9 for boys and 9.6 for girls. Victimization occurred before age eight for 22 percent of boys and for 23 percent of girls. Most of the abuse of both boys and girls was by offenders 10 or more years older than their victims. Girls were more likely than boys to disclose the abuse. Forty-two percent of the women and thirty-three percent of the men reported never having disclosed the experience to anyone.

I'm interested in the 'with knowledge' part of it.
So the Church has said, vaguely, that the bishops 'are the ones...with knowledge who
allowed...'
Who are these Bishops (ahem, Law) and are they still employed by the Church (that
is, money put in Church coffers being used to pay for their living)?
You say Law is 'out of commission.' Sure, ...[text shortened]... ow different is this fromm Bishop Y, who
knowingly harbored and protected Father X?
Nemesio
Couldn't the same be said of the child sex offenders in US jails at the moment? If they are unemployed on release, do they not get State benefits? Isn't the money for this coming from your taxes?
EDIT: Although the Church should probably have suspended him just to make a point.

Saddens his heart to hear children cry
Men molest, which makes his heart soften
But it breaks when priests do it six times as often.
Ought not the priests serve as an example?
Even if one took a random sample
Of men who molest and the same for priests,
Is commensurate incidence the goal to meet?
Originally posted by royalchickenThe conclusion is more than mere speculation.
The Good Doctor thinks that in priest populations,
there exist many prone to obscene molestations
(when compared to more homogenous groups
which exclude priests and leaders of Boy Scout troops).
It's a consequence of two computations.
Divisions, that is, of those who molest
In equal parts among them plus the rest,
Followed by a comparison, quotient A to B.
The results are there for all to see.
4.3 is the quotient that's greater,
Which is to say eaten by the alligator.
