For sure, I know very little myself. I think some of their stuff is pretty good and some of it just seems hokey. Take their "The Eleven Satanic Rules of the Earth" for example.
1. Do not give opinions or advice unless you are asked.
Ok, this is probably good advice, but isn't it sort of like "Don't read this sentence"?
2. Do not tell not your lair? And WTF does "destroy him" mean? Silly.
Any thoughts?
I disagree with the part where you should destroy. I'd rather be destroyed then live in a world where I have to destroy (a bit naïve, I admit).
Now, I like the part where you don't make sexual advances unless you are given the mating signal. That could simplify things a lot. Now, all we have to do is universally agree on what that signal should be, and sexual harassment and rape will be but bad memories. The satanists may be on to something here.
Still, it's easy to see why christians are so reluctant to accept this image of satanism. In their book satanism is about worshipping the devil and doing all sorts of bad and evil things. It's inconceivable to them, that LaVey chose the word satanism for other reasons (partially to piss christians off).
It's as if I were to call myself a nazi, but for very different reasons than the "original" nazies. As a nazi I would speak of human rights, and everyone's right to live. That would be ridicolous to most people. Still, I suppose it could be pulled off with enough time and followers.
[Edit: everything went bold on me again. Gaaaah...]

Here's a link to an interesting former Satanist: www.boydrice.com
http://www.choler.com/articles/boydrice.shtml
Now, looking at the first link, we have the nazi cross embedded in the word love. Very provocative. In the same site there is a passage in the biography section stating that Boyd is (or shares the same ideas as) a fascist. In light of that, his artwork would be saying that a society built on love is impossible. He's also, inadvertently asking the question: "What is love?".
But reading the second article about Boyd, it seems that he uses the nazi cross in it's original context (hermetic gnostisicm). Then, the word love with the wolf's angle in it, is not so provocative. It actually makes sense.
What's he trying to say, I wonder???

My take--Boyd's love has to do with positions of strength and weakness. ("Self-love", commitment to the higher self--"love under will"--is a concept that can be viewed under different lenses--including the fascist & hermetic).
Download some of his music or interviews if they're up on site.
First of all I am not a Satanist but tried to keep me informed (by reading not acting).
The laws by which many of them live (a.m.) are simply the opposite of the laws of the christians. So instead of give him the other cheek you just ask him to stop and then destroy him (could be meant physical, magical etc.). And yes those people believe in magic.
The very famous "Do what thou will shall be the only law" is a short form and I will try to get the rest of the law (Liber vegis ?) and has only small time to do with satanism.
There are different types of satanists as they are different types of christians.
And the nazi cross (yes i am german) is an old ancient protection rune.
The famous pentagramm turns out to be an old "christian" protection symbol too which was forbidden by the church and doomed to be from satan as it nearly replaced the cross and was more accepted (as looking bad aXX cool) (I think this is of the german wikipedia but I´ll try to check tomorrow).
As long as they don´t interfere with your live (and you not with theirs) just let them be !
Everything by the best as I know and i´ll try to make it up with "facts" from the net.

Apparently, the nazi cross is a rip-off of the sunwheel (one of the most ancient symbols in the history of man-kind). And the sunwheel had a whole other meaning than the nazi cross.
The wolfsangle that Boyd speek about is a little different from the sunwheel and the nazi cross. It was used to give its bearer the power and strength of the wolf (werewolf). It was used by the dutch nazi party and the SS.
(All according to the site linked above, which I realize may not be the authorative reference on the subject, but still...)

Hell no. I have devoted my life to the pursuit of evil and the fulfillment of the Dark Angel's wishes. But for the grace of Satan, I would be another lucifershammer or FreakyKBH. Worshipping him is the least I can do.
