I have never celebrated Halloween and what little I know about it is from american movies. I have never got the impression that Halloween is "intentionally promoting a world where evil is lauded and viewed as an ultimate power" and I certainly doubt that children would come away with such a message. Certainly if they do then it is most likely a result of their parents talking about how terrible and evil Halloween is, not because of the holiday itself.

perhaps as a 'Christian', if you made any reference, to any scriptural concept, any little biddy teaching, anything other than a type of emotionalism that may help someone make an informed decision, i could give this argument credence, as it stands, its devoid of anything other than well, triviality, what can i say, we would have been well as saying ...[text shortened]... n, well, a kind emotionalism devoid of an reason, that is the real absurdity of this post.
No - the real absurdity is a couple of beavis' slapping each others' backs about how superior they feel because they speak out against the devils hidden in a few pumpkins, the real absurdity is not being able to see it as just a little bit of harmless fun.

ok, so every one who doesn't see it the same way as Jack is absurd, thank you Jacko, its the highway or Jacks way, such a broad minded all encompassing world you live in Jack, you're aversion to actually answering the questions with regard to the exercise of conscience are noteworthy, if for nothing more than to emphasise your lack of anything meaningful, well gee thanks!

Yeah, sure, the Prince of Darkness rides shotgun in every peach truck when he's not bivouacked in your refrigerator.

I'm happy for you to follow your conscience. Rob. I follow mine - I just don't walk around bragging that it is the will of god that I'm following. Even if I felt that way I wouldn't because I'm intelligent enough to know I could be wrong and mature enough to admit it. What's your excuse?

shall you admit Jack, that following ones conscience is a responsible and virtuous avenue to take? did i state that the conscience was the will of God, no you are getting confused.

i shall state it plainly and without affectation. As a magnet points to magnetic north, a person may guide himself physically, as with a map, for the Christian, his map is Gods word, his conscience the compass. He shall consult the map with the aid of his compass so that it may direct him. Now let me ask you, how would you fare with a map, but no compass, if you are climbing in the mountains and a white out occurs, you are liable to step over a precipice and risk falling to your death. Thus it is with the exercise of the conscience, a person reads the map, tries to ascertain what the perceived will of God is and then weighing up the principles and precedents he may make an informed and conscious based decision, for which i may hasten to add, he is fully responsible. therefore your assertions of lacking responsibility, lacking humility and bragging are unfounded and you should retract them, if you please.

Well I believe this is a forum where one post their thoughts and beliefs. This thread is about Halloween and it is here for us to post our thoughts on this subject. Is it not? So is it ok for you and others to post their thoughts but not Robbies no matter what it is?
