You could equally give me examples of individual events where love is responsible for negative effects.
I don't think you can do this. If there is a negative effect, then it was not love which caused it. Not the kind of love Jesus talked about.

Yes and?
No one comes to the Father except by following Jesus ' example? That'd be a good message for the people of the past who had virtually no knowledge of other major world religions.
I dont see this as conflicting

Not true. Jesus is the example we should learn to follow. Following his example engages one in their own mind which leads one to their own dharma .
He is no door. He was a real man with the same problems as others . He overcame these and attained Christ -conciousness which he said was available to those who are poor in spirit.
Coming from an atheist you'll forgive me if I'm a bit weary as to what you are trying to say here
John 10:7
So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

I said he didn't die that night, the ambulance carted him off to the university hospital. There were later rumors, as I said, about the body cast, but I had no further contact with him, if someone else did, they weren't forthcoming with details. I was a freshman, I was in that dorm for maybe six weeks. After sorority rush week, I was rooming in the AXO house with two other girls.
This is what you do. Nitpick. Nothing I say, about anything, is ever good enough for you. You always gotta pick and peel until you think you find an "aha!!" and then you don't let it go. You wonder why people don't share things about themselves, or experiences they've had. Well, this, right here, is why.
I would go so far as to say that in real life, you might be an "okay" guy, probably easy to get along with while someone is standing right in front of you, but put you on the internet, where you can say what you want, in whatever fashion you want, without retribution, and suddenly you think you have a license to tear people apart over nothing.
Go pick on someone your own size. Someone small, like you.

You cannot have love without empathy, as love without empathy would be hollow, one-sided, self-serving, and arguably, not love at all.
Still love.

love trumps kindness and empathy
you can be empathetic and not show kindness or love.
you can be kind but not show love (as in kindly enabling someone to hurt themselves or others)

"If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
-- 1 Corinthians 13:1-13, NIV
Real love. Kindness. Empathy.
Actually caring, not just saying you care.
Anything less is not love.

You are simply regurgitating nonsense . You put faith into the words of others rather than thinking for yourself . The Word is fluid, it is not static
