Yes the scripture is excellent practical advice. There are simply some posters that have nothing to offer but contentiousness. If you want to enjoy this site then take the Bibles practical counsel and avoid them. Happy days. 😵

I think the comment was just simple bible truth. Where does contention come from? The bible says pride.
I am not going to name anyone. I think whoever is bothered by this truth is guilty, period.
I will be the first to admit I have been angered and prideful many times on this forum. I am not ashamed to admit I fall short too.

All he is saying is the source of this strife is defined in the bible, and the source is pride.
No names, it is meant, I think, as a call for introspection.
To me it is saying, what does it take for us as Christians to be more Christ like?
The atheist position is understandable and expected. Not so for the Christian.

OK, so, the atheists are of no concern to you because their "position is understandable and expected." But you see some Christians here not being "Christ like" enough. Neither you or KellyJay are willing to address the problem you see here by tackling the Christians you mentioned head on and candidly. You say: "What does it take for us as Christians to be more Christ like?" Perhaps it takes candour and clarity. And yet you offer nothing on who you see as more "Christ like" and who you see as less "Christ like". Who are the Christians you're talking about ~ you won't say. Why is that?

Grampy Bobby once declared himself immune to human criticism. Is that the sort of thing Christians should do on this forum to be "Christ like"?

I cause strife from time to time...it is on me too. It was just a question for each of us to
answer and think about.
