I am not a con artist with multiple names.

How many names have you got?
I have three. I've known people with more, and known of people with more still. And how is that relevant to the number of names a god might have?

Apart from this name I am using here on this site,
I only have my real name. My first name and my family name.

Johnny Longwoody is a work of fiction. He does not exist.

I only have one true real legal name, just like any other normal person
and it is registered with the Government agencies for welfare and taxes
and such like and I have a unique number to go along with that name
which narrows it down even more.

If I had other names I would be asked by the authorities to clarify
who I really am so that I don't commit fraud.

You must be reading too many Ian Fleming books or maybe you
saw too many Jason Bourne movies.

You will have to explain to me and everyone else here how you have
3 names. It's very intriguing. Perhaps you should present your
papers to the authorities so they can eliminate two of your names.

Yes, yes, I get what you're saying and it's all very interesting, but how does it relate to the number of names a god might have?

You tell me how you have 3 names
and I'll tell you why someone or some god
should only have 1.

I'm beginning to sound like the Gestapo now.

Show me your papers.

I think you missed something??

Maybe you should present your names so they can eliminate one of them too.

If you use the same name for every internet site you visit, and log onto, I think I would consider that unwise. 😉

-m.

Can you explain more about the god that has only one name, please?

In the UK - and I guess other countries - you can have as many names as you like. It is not illegal.

Up until the 90s (?) it was quite possible to open up bank accounts in any name and as far as I am aware it is the banks that have now made that impossible.

My father was known by two names - his family called him Trevor, workmates called him Les, his birth certifivate said Ernest! (Which nobody used apart from the Inland Revenue)

I am Wolfie to my family and friends - thats not on my birth certificate.

If you have ever had a police check done (as teachers must these days) the form always asks for other names ... its not a crime!

Try that so, next time you are down the welfare office.

See how far it gets you.

Would you consider I am to be a name?

If such an event really occurred maybe he was
telling Moses about his state of being rather than his name.

Like go and tell them who I am or what I am.
not only is, 'I am', not a name, not only is it not even an accurate translation, in the
context its not even good English, 'i am that i am', is meaningless ?????

I've looked it up. I've often seen those on bridges and old buildings.
Never knew what they were called though.

You were asserting that only one legal name was permissable.
I was just pointing out that you were wrong.

What a "welfare office" has to do with it I don't know.
