The nitty gritty of retail politics aside, as a Christian, didn't you ever feel Trump's demeanour and behaviour on the campaign trail made your skin crawl?

The words and deeds of Jesus are many as recorded in the New Testament.
Which words and deeds if any cause you to accuse Christ of being nasty or racist or xenophobic or a liar ? Check the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John.

That would be the main issue for me on how God was manifested for the Christian.
That would be my guiding principle on evaluating the character of God.

Do you think that should also be the guiding principle for other people ?

Or should the guiding principle be that we look out for a vile, nasty, xenophobic, liar who uses "God" to dignify his sins, and let that inform us of God's character ?

Not at all. Most of what the media reported in their attacks on Trump were untrue.
They were wrong in the polls as well.
God has no perfect people to work with, only flawed people.
HRC is too set in her extreme views and would not be "coachable".
Trump's agenda is more in line with Christian values.

    Not necessarily.

People very often have a set of things they want to see happen quite for their own self centered interests, and slap the label "Christian values" on them in a selective way.

Donald Trump could not bring himself to even say he was in need of God's forgiveness.
Is unrepentance an important "Christian value" to you ?

Don't compare to Hillary because that is not the point.
The point I make is that you are most likely thinking of things it terms of looking out for your own skin, and slapping the label "Christian values" on them, selectively.

While I was disappointed that Trump did not credit God, his selection of supreme court justices is indeed favorable to Christians, along with a host of other plans he has promised.
I am thinking of Cyrus in the OT. Cyrus didn't know God, but did His will anyway.
We will have to wait and see about Trump, time will tell.

    Huh?
Most of what the media reported in their attacks on Trump were video of Trump speaking. Please don't tell me that you seriously believe all those videos were fake? Seriously?

I challenge you to name one claim that the 'media reported about Trump' that you claim is untrue.
