Many in this forum except for maybe 2-3 persons are not truthful,, and it is impossible to discuss with untruthful persons because they are always submitting straw-man arguments.

I am not going to respond to these waste of time comments.

The points that are presented that are untruthful are....

1. there is no design in the cosmos but everything just looks designed.

2. life is only chemicals and there reactions acting under their own volition.

3. there is no intelligence at the foundation of existence and everything is just randomly falling into place. (perfectly)

4. there is only matter and nothing else, because we (atheists) cannot see anything else......and this is our supreme scientific methodology.

5. the complex cosmos and everything in it, has come about by an explosion of something, and we dont know what that something is or why it decided to explode......but it did and now we have complex functional life.

6. we dont know why or how we have a cosmos and all the stuff that's in it to support life....but we will tell you exactly how all the species including man came to be, because we found some bones, and sometimes when the bones dont fit, with some ingenuity we make them fit.

These are just a few items that untruthful persons support, and while they do .......it is impossible to have discussion on any level.

edit: in light of your unwillingness to debate spirituality, it hardly seems worth starting another thread. Although I'm glad the mods have let Dasa run his course thus far.

I just think, that before he's run his entire course, that perhaps he needs to understand that through his own actions he's only brought this upon himself.

Yeah, karma's a bitch.

Dasa, you're running out of people to have 'discussions' with; and borrowing from the phraseology of FMF, you're misusing the word "truthful".

How can you prove that they are not truthtful?

Maybe what they say is the truth. Or maybe not. Can you prove it is not the truth?

Maybe what they say can not proven. But just because it can not be proven does not mean is is not the truth. One has nothing to do with the other. It looks like you just have an opinion and it differs from other people's opinion. I would think that is a good thing - many differing opinions.

Dasa can post all he likes, no one is under any duress to read nor respond to his posts. There have been varying degrees over the years or rather attempts to get the materialists to admit that their world view is also partly based on that which is non falsifiable, unobserved, speculative, at times dogmatic and intolerant, he simply represents the extreme point of view, cuts to the chase and calls them liars for not admitting it. That he does this with everyone who opposes his view regardless of the integrity of their reasoning is perhaps his greatest failing. We should be patient with him, for even water can make a hole in a large rock, if it drips with constancy.

Yes. Of course you are right.

But let us not forget that our Father loves and tries to gently guide everyone, while it is apparant that Dasa loves Dasa and not you and me.

Please - please do not confuse the two.

To seperate (and then be able to define as not worthy) is not our Father's way (no matter what Dasa says).

Being truthful has nothing to do with being held close to the heart or being loved.

yes i agree, although love believes all things, in that it imputes pure motives to others, our friend does not have this teaching though and is guided by another principle it seems 🙂

Please define for us the distinction between “untruthfulness” and “error”, as you understand those terms.

How wonderful that you and I did not get caught in that trap, old friend! 🙂 How wonderful that you and I—and the “scarab”, and others—could disagree about so much, sometimes even sharply, and yet become friends! Perhaps that is because we recognized the integrity and sincerity in one another—even as we were sure we saw “wrong-headedness” 😉 !

Hope all is well with you and yours!

I have been away awhile, and likely will not be around too much now; but it is good to greet you again.

Agreed, Sarah.
We must remind ourselves that in the absence of direct contact with the Divine, there is no way to,(POSSIBLY), know for sure that what you are saying is the absolute truth ,(turned into words), we are dealing with opinions. Good opinions a lot of the time, but they are opinions, they are our interpretations of scripture or whtever second hand scource your info is coming from.
I think Dasa's main problem is that he has deluded himself into thinking that his opinions are the truth because they come from his favourite religous book.
Now I have some books that are like bibles to me, but I know that it is still my opinion and not truth that I expouse, no matter how true it may seem.

Are you familiar with the word "truism"?

Hi vistesd, shame you wont be here long. It's good to have an old voice of reason come and try to douse some of the flames of disagreement and delusion that Dasa has brought out.
I will never forget you, and you (and the scarab), who have shown me that it is possible to convey real spiritual meaning over the net. Thanks again friend. I owe you one 🙂
