What utter rubbish.
Here are just a few of the many many times disciples, apostles, and EVEN GOD HIMSELF called Jesus Christ THE SON OF GOD, in the New Testament :
Disciples said :
Mat_14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.
Mat_16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, ...[text shortened]... an spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.
How can the son of man not be man? Was not Jesus both son of man
and Son of God?

in God. And God can not be separated. There only one God and there
is no dividing or separating God into parts. Sometimes when Jesus, the Son,
spoke of the Father He called Him God. The Father also called the Son, God.
But of the Son He says,
“YOUR THRONE, O GOD, IS FOREVER AND EVER,
AND THE RIGHTEOUS SCEPTER IS THE SCEPTER OF HIS KINGDOM.
Letter to the Hebrews 1:8
This refers to the Old Testament Psalms 45:6-7
Your throne, O God, is forever and ever;
A scepter of uprightness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You
With the oil of joy above Your fellows.
I've never in my life seen a more thinly veiled attempt to dodge a question.Originally posted by divegeester
Please can I ask that we stick to the thread:
Why were the people on the streets of Jerusalem picking up stones to stone Jesus for saying "before Abraham was, I AM"?
robbie carrobie replied
before Abraham was, I AM
Please can we use grammatically correct English. It would be a good place to begin.

Divegeesters point was lost in all the bitterness and ad hominem, but, just to make it clear: The Jews wouldn't have wanted Jesus dead if His claim was something innocuous or silly. Obviously when Jesus said "Before Abraham was, I AM," He implied something very deep and serious...
those days. π

John 8 : 58-59
“I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “before Abraham was born, I am!” At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.
Why did those listening want to stone him? Seems pretty harsh, what was Jesus saying that would cause people to want to murder him? All he said was "before Abraham was - I AM"
Thoughts...
