it seems to me that they were under the mistaken impression that Christ was making
himself equivalent to either God or Abraham, of course Christ claimed nothing of the
sort. Now you will demonstrate where Christ did claim that, divesgeester, or you are a
liar. Raj put it rather well, you are taking the word of Christ enemies and using it
substantiate your own claims, from one Pharisee to another, how interesting. Here are your words AGAIN,

Christ is making the claim that he is God almighty incarnate, where did Christ make
that claim divesgeester, where did he make it?

They were going to stone Jesus because they mistakenly thought he was saying he was equal to Abraham!!?? Good grief, you really are quite something.

I'll settle for that final pathetic effort.

Done.

only an atheist? only an atheist? what the hell is that? you are only a tax collector
and a sinner! I believe you are capable of more hate than any atheist has ever
displayed on these forums, certainly more prejudice, that's for sure.

How about John 8:58 were He is speakig of the God of Abraham and says,
"I AM (He)". Either the (He) must be understood or else Jesus is taking
on the Devine name for himself. Take your pick.

P.S. John 5:17-47 is pretty good too.
and John 6:35-65; 10:30; 11:25-27; 12:44-45

I am continually amazed at how people ignore the words of the Bible in favour of their own biased doctrine taught by their religion.

Here is the thing ... do you think that God had any problem saying that he is God. Do you know how many times he told people ..'I am the Lord your God", in the Old Testament. Then all of a sudden in the New Testament Christ if he was the very same God is lost for words and cannot express it properly and clearly ??? DO you ?

The expression appears in the OT 161 times. But not once in the New Testament.

He had a different purpose and besides if He came right out and said
what you think He should have said He would have lost all His disciples,
for they knew his earthly mother and father. He almost lost them as
it were. Think before you speak such nonsense.

What utter rubbish.

Here are just a few of the many many times disciples, apostles, and EVEN GOD HIMSELF called Jesus Christ THE SON OF GOD, in the New Testament :

Disciples said :
Mat_14:33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.

Mat_16:16 And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Joh_6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

GOD said :
Mar_1:11 And there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Heb_1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Heb_5:5 So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.

Even the Devils said:
Mar_1:24 Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God.

Mar_3:11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.

Were you not aware that the New Testament is written in Greek and
not Hebrew? The Greeks conquered Israel long before Jesus was born
to Mary.
