We can quibble about 'empty' and 'dying', but I'm not a liar.

Why?
You again fail to explain a bizarre notion.

Like I told you earlier, if you don't grasp the notion of respect to those to
whom it is due you never will. Just as a family member should be shown
love and respect, as a grandparent so much from all the family members,
your creator is in a higher position than even a grandparent. If you think
deference is a bizarre notion, wow.

To me, worshiping God is not necessarily falling on your face type, rather it is striving to unconditionally love. God and our neighbor. This is what Jesus taught and asked us to do in following Him

Respect is earned through actions. Giving respect because one ought leads to all sorts of problems.

And why would deference follow from respect?

I certainly do not want nor expect deference or to be worshipped from anyone who respects me.

Mass murderers and rapists can be grand-parents too ... do they warrant respect?

Bizarro.

Are you saying you strive to love god?

Yes, respect is earned through actions.
Creating the universe and everything in it, should earn some respect.
Holding the universe together by the power of God's Word, should earn respect.
Giving everyone life, should earn respect.
Giving everyone everything they need to maintain life, should earn respect.
Giving everyone the grasp of right and wrong should earn respect.
Holding everyone accountable for their own actions should earn respect.
Setting in place all the laws of the universe should earn respect.
The list can go on and on.
Knowing that God is King of the universe, the judge of all life, should earn
Him some respect.
If you wish to believe none of that matters, that is up to you.

I see you change tack again when you cannot answer my questions.
Very well - lets take your latest offering.

Choose any item from your list and persuade me why your god deserves
respect for it (even though we were originally debating worship ....)

Worship is reserved for a person you love intensely; human beings are incapable of loving another human being until they know them; without learning God's Word, gratitude and respect and reverential awe and love and worship are impossible.

It is a simple matter of respectful reverence, if you have neither respect
or reverence what could I say? I pointed out to you that we react to some
with love and respect, it does not mean that everyone will.

You don't seem to care that everyone you care about and your very life
are all gifts from the God we are talking about. Our lives are short, and
some times some we care about are only with us for a very short time.
This just shows us how special life is, how precious it all is! The thing about
this life it shows us so much, the good the bad!

What people here seem to do is put the puny meaningless stuff above the
more important which is our lives. We brought nothing in, we take nothing
out of this life.

I do not believe I can with words show what your asking, any more than
a man born blind can grasp color.

"Short" with respect to what exactly?

I could equally say our lives are long.

Cop out!
This excuse allows anyone to make any outlandish statement and then when challenged to say:
"I do not believe I can with words show what your asking, ...
It is for the intellectually weak and morally feeble.
