The funny thing is that parents tell their Children that hell is a bad word, but I believe that it is not, because you need to tell people about hell so that they will not want to go there.
But the word is unbiblical, as even DJ admits.

The way most children use the word "hell," it is a bad word, sort of the way you used the word "Mexican" yesterday.

Christians can be so provincial.

I suppose the word "hell" best describes the place that Christ was refering to. If you know what I mean...

Read up about St. Origen, inventor of the Trinity, who did not believe in hell, and tell me what you think. The link is a few posts back.

Thank you. That's all I've asked for from you. Support your assertions with rational thought and evidence. Clearly Hell is biblical. Now, explain how an omniscient omnipotent God can permit the existence of evil. Do so rationally.

But God shows his love for us in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
It is because you have not accepted English as your language that you refuse understanding of this.

What I think is most revealing is that not one Christian has discussed the following part of my original post (but thanks to Joe Fist and Umbridge!):

"Imagine if you were an omnipotent teacher and you gave your pupils free reign to go out into the world and do good deeds. You would be very disappointed with those pupils who decided to just stay in the class room and tell you how wonderful you were, and plead with you to make the world outside better! God must shake his head in disappointment at those pathetic fawning weaklings in church trying to suck up their way into heaven."

This could be because none of them has the imagination to do the mental task, which would be true as unimaginative people tend to quote others' work endelessly to make it appear as if they are thoughtful people. (such as the bible - RBHill)

But I believe they have all failed to address this thought experiment for one reason:
They are filled with dread when contemplating the possibility that God may not give a toss about their genuflection and sycophancy, and prefers atheists who just get on with life and improving the cosmos.

Why can't we worship AND get on with improving the cosmos? Why do you think the two are mutually exclusive?

I did follow your post in saying that religion is a waste of time and gets you nowhere.
