When a theist says 'the existence of God does not depend on you believing in Him,' I think they forget that goes both ways. Believing in something doesn't make it factual.

You obviously cannot be certain that God does not exist. Therefore you cannot be certain there is nothing between you and God.

Not interested in replying to your insults as you, like FMF, seem to rely on personalizing conversations so you can go that route.

On the little substance you offered, my impression of online atheists is obviously different than yours. Because neither one of us has interacted with a large enough sample of online atheists and are unable to be certain o ...[text shortened]... of Islam. That’s been my experience. Whether you believe it or not really doesn’t matter to me.
Almost 3.45 am on the East Coast of the U.S.A. and here you are pretending that online “atheists” promote Islam.

The point is this. You have read these words: I have never tried to convince anyone that their god figures do not exist. Never here, never in the 'real world'. Indeed, I have stated here on umpteen occasions that people should believe what they want and if their religious beliefs give them what they need, then that's good, especially if it helps them live their ...[text shortened]... ut on it for being disingenuous or dishonest or not conversing in good faith. That is the point.
I never said you were a God hater. I said it was a general observation and told you not to take it personally when you did. I gave you a working definition of God hater masquerading as an atheist and if it didn’t apply to you, then obviously I wasn’t talking about you.

You seem desperate to personalize this conversation.

I don't believe you.

Islam barely gets a mention in this forum, by theist or atheist.

I can assure you there is nothing "between" me and your god figure. If I don't believe in your god figure then there can be no 'between-ness', in exactly the same way as there is nothing "between" you and the Hindu gods if you do not believe they exist.

Still trying to personalize this conversation? Why do you always do that? Actually, I’ve already answered that - I think you need to vent a lot of anger and frustrations and you use this forum to do it.

Well, you've certainly read what I have written about myself now, so bear it mind in future.

I already responded to the Hindu gods analogy. It doesn’t work.

It's 2.45 pm where I am.

As I said earlier, my experience with online atheists (or God haters who describe themselves as atheists) goes well beyond this website.

That’s great.

I’ll try.

Of course it does. There cannot be some something "between" you and a deity or deities that you do not believe in. Simple as that.

The two positions are obviously not the same.
