One Question this Morning @ GMT-6: In your entire adult life,
have you ever changed your mind about a strongly held belief and acceptance of the truth of a)....
in order to seriously consider the possibility of b)....?
It's not that our beliefs don't change.
If you showed me convincing evidence that your god existed I would
believe that your god existed.
However I/we can't just 'decide' to change my beliefs.
Beliefs don't work like that.

But I suppose for you, it will still be Christians' fault for not trying harder to convince you of your error.
We - and I absolutely dare to speak on behalf of every atheist in the world - do not expect you to prove that god exists. We expect god to prove that god exists.
No matter how often a theist may say that god exists, if that is all the proof we're ever going to get, we will never start believing. You are NOT required to provide evidence, nor are you in any way responsible for our fate if it turns out that god does exist.
Mindboggling that you would think that, really.

See the difference here? You ask me a question and I answer it.
I ask you a question and you don't answer it but instead ignore it.

He incorrectly thinks this consists of asking questions and ignoring any responses or questions in return.

And maybe the fact that he's afraid means that somewhere in the back of his brain he knows that all this god stuff doesn't make a lot of sense.
Then again, maybe I'm overanalyzing.
I agree with what you've said before, it's a pity that he does this because he does often start some interesting conversations.

Yes, I have. Many times. When new information becomes available I re-evaluate the situation and may come to a different conclusion.

Cannot.
CANNOT
I CANNOT choose to believe.
It is NOT about (un)willingness.
I could believe if I would believe.
I can act like I believe.
But I cannot choose to believe.
And you want to hear something amazing, GB?
Neither can you!
Mull that over for a little while.

The fact that you side with this imaginary tyrant tells us an awful lot about your [lack of] compassion and morals.

1.26. An alternative address awaits all who reject Christ’s agonizing substitutionary spiritual death on their behalf: the Lake of Fire, sharing the final destination of the devil and his angels. It's an endless nightmare of suffering and pain; a place of eternal torment and hopelessness: "And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever." (Revelation 20:10b) "And if anyone's name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the Lake of Fire." (Revelation 20:15)
1.27. Christ took our place and accepted the punishment of separation from God the Father during those final three hours of the crucifixion. His finished work atoned for the sins of all mankind; and in doing so propitiated (satisfied) the Righteousness and Justice of God. All who reject God's Grace Gift are without hope and without eternal life. “God demonstrates His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died as a substitute for us.” (Revelation 20:10b)
1.28. God respects our volition. He has given us the freedom to make our own uncoerced individual choice with respect to the person and finished work of Jesus Christ. By a simple act of faith we can have eternal life: “He gave His only begotten [uniquely born] Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3: 16b)
"There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'" -C.S. Lewis
