She's everybody's tooth fairy.
She exists whether you believe in her or not.
Pascal's dental wager dictates you should risk pulling a tooth to offer in sacrifice to Her rather than risk eternal drilling hell without anaesthetic.
I her prophet hath spoken. I became such when she left $50 for my last baby tooth.
@ghost-of-a-duke saidWait a minute. You studied theology for three years at the undergraduate level because you are passionate about discourse on matters of religion, and here you are, all these years later, droning on about the "tooth fairy", "fairy tales" and "the flying spaghetti monster"? What university equipped you with those rhetorical skills?
People are passionate when they discuss politics and religion. I find that interesting. (Sociology was done at A level).
@ghost-of-a-duke said"Is it just your particular God..." This question is not about God, but about me, when you center the object on my particular God, this presupposes God can only be due to my beliefs in Him, so it isn't even addressing God as an object to the question. You avoid God and point out your question making it about me, you are not alone in this, but it shows you are more concerned with people, not God in your question here.
Is it just your particular God that should be taken seriously and set apart from other human imaginings? What about Shiva or Zeus? What about Allah or Horus?
@ghost-of-a-duke saidYou have again centered your questions on those who hold the beliefs rather than the object of other's beliefs.
Again (for the last time) I HAVE examined so my position is not unreasonable and illogical.
Can you confirm you have read and understood that, "I have put significant study into Christianity and have most certainly not 'ignored out of hand' its beliefs" ?
My rejection has not come first. My rejection occurs after examining and study. It is clear to me that the ...[text shortened]... version of human imaginings with a richer history, but that doesn't elevate it beyond the imaginary.
@ghost-of-a-duke said"your particular flavour of god"
No, I am asking why your particular flavour of god should be afforded more credibility than gods of other religions?
@moonbus saidIs this questioning about God or instead, "people who believed in your god" people?
@KellyJay
All imaginary things are equal, they are simply imaginary nothing of substance.
Then we're in complete agreement, that the entity you profess to believe in is as imaginary as tooth fairies and Santa Claus. Nothing with substance or objective reality answers to any of them. The only relevant difference between them is what humans do with or in the name ...[text shortened]... t so very long ago that people were executed in Salem Mass. for witchcraft, an imaginary evil. Pfui.
