@eladar saidTell me something about your religion. Isn't it one of the fundamental tenets of your religion that there is no such thing as a "better person"? I mean, after the Fall, of course. Some people may have been forgiven, but no one, in this world, is ever better.
Sorry but your sister may have just been a better person. You ate not able to read minds. Next time ask her if you say something that insults her church's beliefs if she chooses to still be around you.
@moonbus saidWhat do you call it when one person is insulting the other person but the other person does not return the insults but keeps the peace? How do you describe that person who turns the other cheek?

I called it the better person. Perhaps it is usually described as bigger person. Instead of trying to change the subject you should deal with your belief it is okay to belittle other people's beliefs.

@eladar saidYou're the only one who thinks I belittled her beliefs. No one else here does, and my sister didn't think so either. I did not have to ask her; we reached on a non-verbal level. Still do in many other things. Did you never know anyone that well?

EDIT:
Several posters to this thread have recounted, in neutral, factual, autobiographical style, their experiences along a spiritual path, whether that path occurred within the context of an organized religion or outside such a context. Several others responded with questions, asking for more detail. No one here said he felt that his position had been belittled, or insulted, or attacked — until you showed up. Why do you think that is?
@moonbus saidLol how many Christians who hold similar beliefs as your sister are replying in this thread?

@moonbus saidWhat you said was insulting to the traditional view of heaven and hell. Others here think it is fine to do so because they do not believe it to be true. Why not insult something that is not true?
You're awfully quick to take umbrage on behalf of someone else you don't even know.
All I suggested is that you ask your sister if what you said offended her. You believe you do not need to ask because you can read her mind through body language.
@eladar saidPerhaps you would like to offer something constructive in the spirit of this thread.

How did you come to be on the spiritual path you now tread? Were you born and raised into it, did you convert after long consideration and evaluation of different paths, did you have some watershed experience (an epiphany or a vision)?
@moonbus saidThe spirit of the thread is insulting to traditional Christians.

@eladar saidYou keep talking about people "attacking" or "insulting" you or people with your beliefs, and now about the 'spirit' of this thread being "insulting" to you. What are you on about?
Either you are hounding me or you do not expect me to answer your questions.
Either way I find what you are doing to be odd.
@eladar saidYour behaviour is part of the discourse. Your inability or unwillingness to answer is part of the discourse. You can choose to answer or not to respond to posts. You can behave as you see fit. People will make what they will of your choices.
