Awful? Bored? The game was played with very high tempo, with precise passing and purposeful attacking from both sides for 75 minutes from both sides (a bit faded in the end). Defences didn't look good, but that's because both teams went for it.
You two are mad.

no they are prejudiced, i also thought it was awesome and vewy intwesting encounter, A Ghanaian team that plays not like a typical African team and a German team that needed to go for it. Plenty of chances and plenty of excitement.

Didn't know where to put it, so here it goes:

Some of these football players are way too lucky (she's married to Martin Demichelis).

I expect to see a lot of 2nd string Brazil and Portuguese players on the pitch this afternoon, considering that both teams are basically already through. Ivory Coast won't realistically be able to bridge the 9 goal gap to take Portugal's second place. (but Spain have to win by only one goal to top their group, so Portugal might want to go for the win here to avoid them in the next round)

Howevar... SPAIN have to give it everything. If they lose and the Swiss beat/draw Honduras then it's over. And it's Chile. I'd like to see them try their best to have a convincing victory today, like we all know they're capable of. And not "try their best" in a limp wristed Italy way either with their gaggle of useless deep midfielders.

It's going to be a great day for football!

I would put past IC hammering North Korea who looked dead tired in the 2nd half against Portugal already. IC's physical game will tire them down even more and they have tons of firepower up front.

So Portugal has to play it smart and make the game as boring and entertaining as possible. I have seen a lot of contradicting line-ups, but it seems resting players is a possibility (namely Meireles who is crucial to our midfield). I'm already getting nervous... Also, if Brazil play with a lot of reserves, they'll be hungry for goals.

I don't care about topping the group, first we have to pass.

Portugal will make it through. No way IC lays nine on NK. I don't see the Brasilian reserves getting too excited, although their reserves would make first teams most anywhere else. WC has really heated up and indeed today should be a great day for soccer! IC plays really fast and might indeed wear out NK, but they don't have the creativity or imagination of the Portuguese.

never mind that Schweinsteiger is doubtful! tremble tremble, at least Klose is back though after his disgraceful and unjust sending off!

That's so unlikely that I didn't bother bringing it up.

Portugal Brazil, bad game, first half was boorish, the last ten minutes were a complete snooze.

(Although Portugal should have had a penalty courtesy of Lucio's arm)

(edit: Lucio's bicep)
