Sure thing, my theory also fails when one considers Germany, not a nation known for its poverty. Also it would seem that it is not dependent upon a greater number of available players, otherwise Russia would be dominant and teams like Holland and Portugal would be less than average.

However, I also love the Red Sox and rooted for them in that great and historic comeback of 2004. I'm sure my father, watching from heaven, also rooted for the Red Sox in that one. I coul ...[text shortened]... for Texas when Yankees and Texas played in their one post-season series against one another!
ah yes, i'd saw there was very, very few non yankees fans who didn't want the red sox to come back in 2004, i still remember the extra innings games 4 and 5, some of the best sport on tv ever. happened to get to game 3 of the 2007 seris in denver, another sox win. great stuff. haven't been able to watch as much this year as i normally do though which is disapointing.

Actually, there are lots of foreigners in Russia's Premier League. They're debating stronger restrictions on foreign players as Russia's own young talents don't have enough play time to develop. It's similar to EPL.

the theory is in tatters, strewn across the forum floor like a Margaret Thatcher toilet roll at parkhead. 😞

Foreigners are the scapegoats for everything. Crime, unemployment and the poor footballing performance of national teams. 😵

Russia JUST TWO YEARS AGO ago was doing great and going to a semi-final in the European Championship. It's ridiculous to blame its recent failure on some structural problem.

Queiroz is playing Ricardo Costa as a right-back. What the hell, doesn't make any sense against Spain. 😞

Cristiano Ronaaaaaaldo!!!

It's now or never!

I still believe in a final score of Portugal 3 x 2 Spain.

We'll see...

Fast paced game so far, but without too many chances as expected. Things will get even better in the second half as Spain intensifies it's attack to end it without the risk of of a penalty shootout.

It will end: Spain 1-0 Portugal. David Villa.
