If they won their quarter final games Spain would have to meet Argentina in the semi final.

Brazil have the "easiest" road to the final.

no, i'm blaming torres. there was nothing wrong with him, spain had just scored. most people would be happy with that but no, torres decided to lay on the ground for 5 minutes as if he'd just been shot. he does the same for liverpoo and i'm glad he's playing like a donkey.

Angry much?

Here's what really happened:

Estrada is running behind Torres, he takes one look at Torres then looks away.

Estrada's knee catches Torres' foot making him lose his balance, so he fell over. It wasn't a dive.

Then he proceeded to make a meal of it, but that was uncharacteristic and he doesn't do the same for Liverpool.

Should never have been a red card.

i didn't say it was a dive. and he has done it before for liverpoo, to be fair though a lot of players do. otherwise i generally agree with you.

Foreigners are the scapegoats for everything. Crime, unemployment and the poor footballing performance of national teams. ๐Ÿ˜ต

Russia JUST TWO YEARS AGO ago was doing great and going to a semi-final in the European Championship. It's ridiculous to blame its recent failure on some structural problem.
It's a tragedy they didn't make it to South Africa. Most of the players are in their primes (Arshavin, Billy, Pavluchenko, Akinfeev, Zhirkov, Zyryanov,...). And with Hiddink's style of play they would've looked refreshing in WC. Unfortunately, Slovenia surprised them.

Who should I blame for the recent failure? If there's not enough competition for a place in the national team, two years is sufficient time for a downturn.
