The list is huge because they keep doing exciting new fascisms every day that it's hard to keep up.

So, here are some points.

I. I believe I am actually the "atheist" here as I am not making a positive claim that the US is a fascist state. That is exactly why I brought up my position the way that I did.

II. I think there are a lot of MAGA people that are very smart. I think many people who disagree with me are smart. This is probably not even a point worth discussing. Either you are charitable towards your opponents or you ain't.

III. Just curious: is there any case of a woman dying because she was denied an abortion since Roe v. Wade was overturned?

IV. I do not sit and htink about why the US is a fascist state because I do not believe it and do not put much credit in the idea that it has become such. My thoughts on politics focus on other things.

V. ICE is arresting and deporting illegals, and as non-citizens, there is a different set of criteria. And that's wonderful. That's how it should be. Categories exist for a reason, and for far too long there has been no enfrocement of the law.

Gerrymandering is also how the system just works - there are states where more than 35% of voters are Republican yet they have exceedingly few repre3sentatives that are statistically far lower than the rate of Democrats. Everyone does it. Plus this is also the dumbest stuff for me to spend my time on - living in Korea and talking about voting districts in Texas and getting angry about it.

Probably you should go with proportional voting if you want to solve that... But good luck with that.

You are just basically mad about gerrymandering only because the GOP is winning in this case - if they were losing, it would be considered heroic and acceptable action being taken to save the country from fascism or something.

The solution is not to stop deporting illegals or create new regulations that make fulfilling this goal impossible, but it is rather to fix these small, miniature problems every time they crop u p, righting previous wrongs.

In South Korea, people are required to carry ID with them. This makes sense. Even if it is not a legal requirement, it can certainly be understandable that if you have no documentation on you or available at your home proving your status as a citizen, you're the one out there flapping in the wind and have played some role in your false deportation.

That is not to say we want that to happen, but at some point we have to be at peace with the fact that people who have taken no measures to protect themselves from something have wound up being negatively impacted by their negligence.

I also think it is the case that there are a lot of people who would benefit on the right in blue states that could enjoy independent committes or, better yet, having the states cast votes and then having proportional allotment of the votes by political party as we do in South Korea, but even this has its own problems.
