It was his job to "preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States" according to the oath he took. The fact that he refused to do so by telling the mob he had assembled to disperse for hours and stop violently interfering with the the counting and certification of the Electoral College mandated by the Constitution is surely evidence of his intent.

This is purely just picking one interpretation. If what you say is fact, we would have skipped a hearing/trial and put him in the dock. But, many people have the event floating in the wind.

And may I apply your logic to say Trump AND BIDEN both swore to defend the same Constitution….you are saying Trump should have defended us against Jan 6 mob, but you are NOT saying that Biden should defend us against millions of invaders, illegal and alien. Jesus Marauder, you lose on this one.

Trump has not suffered any consequences. He will be on the CO ballot. SCOTUS will surely strike down the CO ruling. If they don't other states will do it and it would be a ridiculous embarrassment. If democrats are banned from running you will not like that and sorely regret it.

You seem to think only republicans would be affected by such a precedent. If one side gets away with it the other will do it too. Common sense. All based on opinion and nothing more.

The only embarrassment is if the world sees that we can't even enforce our own Constitution.
