I don't live in PA. I live in VA.
I moved here though from the Northwest, so I'm a Seahawks fan (Please don't touch me. I'm in continual pain from the last 20-some years of pigskin masochism.).
its quite ironic that i get a post moderated for saying the swear word for 'poo' yet you RB are writing the biggest load of bullpoo and here it is ...larger than life. what you write is obscene and very offensive to anyone who has half a brain with kids......you seriously worry me and I really wouldn't want you within a 10 mile radius of any child
Or indeed any child. This is the most ill-conceived, small-minded nonsense that I have ever heard. It is at this point that I can only think of RBHILL as the Benicio del Toro character in 21 grams when he is disciplining his daughter to 'turn the other cheek'. You are an appalling representation of Christianity RB and put to shame the many good people I know who are strong Christians, in faith and action. You should never be allowed to have children, work with children or be in contact with them. You are clearly a danger to them, as transgressing a 'law' they know little about or understand, will result in a beating. SVW has made some very good points on what is possibly meant by that particular quotation from the bible, but I firmly believe that you hold it at face value. Consequently, I cannot help but feel that you should not ever be around children. Please convince me that I am wrong in holding this opinion.
It should be noted that the person with almost a monopoly on spelling and grammatical errors in this thread is RBHill. Makes it even easier to just ignore everything he says.
If you can't keep your children under control without resorting to violence then you don't deserve to be a parent, simple as that.
Originally posted by telerionThis is very good, Telerion. You are very lucky to have a daughter;
Yet another example of where a literal interpretation of the Bible falls flat on its face.
I have daughter RBHILL so from the literalist perspective half of those verses don't apply to me.
you should feel very safe because RBHill's reading of the Bible has
a great many protections for her:
Exodus 21:7-11
When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as male
slaves do. But if her master, who had destined her for himself, dislikes
her, he shall let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to a
foreigner, since he has broken faith with her. If he destines her for his
son, he shall treat her like a daughter. If he takes another wife, he
shall not withhold her food, her clothing, or her conjugal rights. If he
does not grant her these three things, she shall be given her freedom
absolutely, without cost to her.

You see a child needs to learn sometimes the hard way or they might end up like Tim McViegh Oklahoma Bomber.
But you say good Christian, but they are only good because God works in them. Remember Christians are not Perfect just FORGIVEN, and it is God to decide whos parents are whos. I heard this from an old Pastor of mine, he said that So and so parents are the best parents for so and so, and John dows parents are the best for John dows, if you understand.

Exodus 4:10
Moses said to the LORD , "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue."
And remember there are a lot of Retarted people who accept Christ into their Hearts and they are called just as all Christians to Preach the Gospel.

The bible is being nice telling YOU what you want to here.
I could type on word and Copy Paste but that is a waste of time to do and for Spell Check.

Discipline your son, for in that there is hope;
do not be a willing party to his death.

so here if you do not discipline he could become a murderer and rapist of women, And then he might get the death penalty ...[text shortened]... bs 29:17
Discipline your son, and he will give you peace;
he will bring delight to your soul.
Are there any other weak and defenceless people the Good Book encourages me to beat up?
Originally posted by RBHILLNo, you shouldn't discipline them. What's done is done. You should love and support them unconditionally.
Well what happens one day when your daughter comes home with the news that she is going to have a baby and she is not married, that is why you should discipline them sometimes.

One thing that is interesting is that "spare the rod" has come to imply punishment with a stick.
Many places in the bible "the rod" is considered the same as "the iron rod of god" or... "the word of God".
To "Cling to the rod" is to follow gods word.
To "spare the rod" can quite easily be read as "failure to teach gods word."
For what it's worth.

The Bible says you heat your Child if you do not Discipline them, the Bible is more right then you or I will ever be.
