You see a child needs to learn sometimes the hard way or they might end up like Tim McViegh Oklahoma Bomber.

But you say good Christian, but they are only good because God works in them. Remember Christians are not Perfect just FORGIVEN, and it is God to decide whos parents are whos. I heard this from an old Past ...[text shortened]... best parents for so and so, and John dows parents are the best for John dows, if you understand.
O yes a childhood of gifts and presents makes someone a mass murderer....

RB, there are many memorable quotes from you, but I think this one may be the best.

OK< a question. In Deuteronomy it says that if one has a rebellious child, the child should be taken out to the gates of the city and stoned to death. The beauty of this tact of discipline is that it works. Do you support this type of discipline?

You may never know in this Sinful world.
Your Child could be a LOSER and have no Friends and go kill the people who make fun of him or her at school.

No and remember when Christ came and died He broke the old LAWS and gave us new ones.

OK, now you've got me confused because you started the thread with passages from the Old Testament.

For those people who have seen my Bible study post, I believe I only went to week 11 or 13 but if I had kept going it would have been week 20 and 10 weeks to go out of the 30 Discipleship exercises.
==============================================

==============================================
Week 20 just happens to be Discipline:

Job 5:17
"Blessed is the man whom God corrects;
so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.

Psalm 94:12
Blessed is the man you discipline, O LORD ,
the man you teach from your law;

Hebrews 12:5-6
5And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,
6because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

Proverbs 3:11-12
11 My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline
and do not resent his rebuke,
12 because the LORD disciplines those he loves,
as a father the son he delights in.

1 Corinthians 11:31-32
31But if we judged ourselves, we would not come under judgment. 32When we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world.

Psalm 119:67,75
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
75 I know, O LORD , that your laws are righteous,
and in FAITHFULNESS you have afflicted me.

Yes, but none of those give me any specific advice that's why Deuteronomy is so helpful.

Discipline your son, and he will give you peace;
he will bring delight to your soul.
Doesn't that antiquated book you keep selctively quoting from also say to take a disobedient child to the edge of town and stone them to death?????
And let's not forget the murdering of blasphemers.
Wasn't the story of "Noah" proven in 1890 to be a Babylonian myth stolen by the Hebrews?
You keep presenting the words of man as the words of God, I guess you are a blasphemer and should be stoned to death, lol.
Children require discipline but not in the abusive (and murderous) way that your "religious" book states.

For one thing you do not know the True meaning of LOVE.
1 John 4:10
This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for[ 4:10 Or as the one who would turn aside his wrath, taking away] our sins.

The Bible says God is Love, and humans are not smart enough to put together that with out the help of the Holy Spirit. And plus the Children broke a Commandment honor your father and mother one.

2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is Godbreathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,...

2 Peter 1:20-21
20Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:16-17
16and said, "Brothers, the Scripture had to be fulfilled which the Holy Spirit spoke long ago through the mouth of David concerning Judas, who served as guide for those who arrested Jesus-- 17he was one of our number and shared in this ministry."

As a Republican, do you think I should instictively know which weak and defenceless people can be beaten up? I am looking for divine guidance here.
