You have no children and say you are not an expert on children.

So why are you telling parents to use violence on children?

You can Discipline a Child without useing violence send them to the room.

Or maybe sit them down and talk with them about why what they did was wrong and the reasons they shouldn't do it again. Or would that be too insane?

I do both.

When she gets out of control, I put her in her room to calm down.

When she's calm, we discuss why her actions are inappropriate. Works pretty well. If you instill in the child a desire to behave, then it's much easier. If you try to force them to behave (e.g. spanking), the child does not grow to understand why things are wrong. They only connect certain behaviors with a likelihood of punishment.

Postive reinforcement is much better than negative reinforcement.
Reward and praise when they do things right.

This is very good, Telerion. You are very lucky to have a daughter;
you should feel very safe because RBHill's reading of the Bible has
a great many protections for her:

Exodus 21:7-11

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she shall not go free as male
slaves do. But if her master, who had destined her for himself, dislikes
her, he shall le ...[text shortened]... ant her these three things, she shall be given her freedom
absolutely, without cost to her.

"Jesus loves the little children /
All the children of the world/
Even girls sold as sex slaves. . . "

Proverbs 13:24
He who spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is careful to discipline him.
Proverbs 22:15
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child,
but the rod of discipline will drive it far from him.

Rod: a long thin implement made of metal or wood

So how can telling parents to use a rod be interpreted to mean anything other than hit them with it?

A literalist can't. A rod is a rod is a rod.

Good to know that no matter what happens, the Bible assures me that my daughter will get everything God designed her to have.

food, clothes, and penis

Give 'er a sheet to wear and a bite to eat once in awhile, and she'll service you well for a long time.

Alleluia! I love a literal read!

Is that America´s Most Wanted? Does saying you should not beat up children put me up there with perverts, murderers, and terrorists in your eyes?
