I was sceptical about Hegseth's bringing all those top generals together but it worked out very well
Lol did you listen to it at all? It was a complete disaster. Imagine you're a general working in a hostile country and your commander in chief asks you to fly halfway around the world to say this:

“I’m a very aesthetic person. I don't like some of the ships you are doing aesthetically. They say it is stealth. That's not stealth. An ugly ship is not necessary in order to say you are stealth”

- Trump

That's not what they said.
Just the fat woke ones. The fit ones with common sense said "Finally!"

I've missed something. We can all agree that soldiers should be fit. Right? (as Sue says). So are the libs here saying that it is OK in the service to be fat? Yeah, there 100 words, obese, unfit, sorry ass, whatever, but you get what Trump and Hegseth are saying, I am sure. Our forces must be fit, in shape. What is all this writing about?? Instead let's all guess when a few Dems will step foreward and open the govt.

WOKE is a joke and it's going out the door! Hee-Haaaaaaaaaaaa!

Now maybe we can have a military that is battle ready again

Hegseth: "Sorry we had to cancel cancer research and your cancer treatment, but the Secretary of Defense had to fly all the generals in so he could call them fat."

Do you think fat people don't know?

The cost of this single 90 minute meeting was in the multimillions of dollars. But at least the fat generals now know they're fat. Finally.

A typical suzianne-like comment. It says nothing. Yall can gloss over this one. I think there is a really deep-thought Sonhouse post making its way to the top of the pile.

As long as it is fair!!! Has to be fair. No bullies, either!!

You mean so that he can impress upon them the importance of having a battle- ready, perfectly fit fighting force. See how you faeries slip in nonsense, but you can't fool us. We know what it was about, you don't, but you should. Now, get on down to the dart competition at the Pub, and our soldiers will be humming the SAC (Strategica Air Command) 24/7 over as you sleep one off tonight.

To riff of off "Jane, you ignorant slut" from SNL circa 1976:

"Earl, you ignorant doofus." 😉

If "woke" means "inclusive" -- didn't that used to be an American ideal (admittedly maybe just a few decades ago rather than at time of founding)?

More importantly, what do you think about Hegseth calling our top military away from their posts in such roilsome times? Seems like a bad idea to me.
Seems to me our enemies would take that as weakness, especially after the world saw and heard but Hegseth and Trump blathering put down of military, FAT 4 stars, Have to do pushups to keep in shape and NO DRESSES.
I think the history books will record that is THE most stupid address ever given by a secretary of defense and a sitting POTUS.
The audience was in STRIKING silence.
You can imagine what they would be talking about after the two asssole so called leaders stopped talking.
In my opinion that demonstration of abject STUPIDITY will harden the top generals and admirals against Trump and especially that buffoon Hegseth.
He actually touted his own book in that screed.

Merit. Everything's based on merit. That's why I selected a fox News host to run the military and a podcaster to run the FBI. Despite decades of military service and experience from each of you in this room, Pete hegseth who spent 10 years getting makeup applied in a TV stufio was more qualified than any of you.

You're fat and lazy. Go home and retire.

Of course they know. What they possibly didn't know was it was no longer going to be acceptable.

I don't know why Hegseth found it necessary to bring them all together to deliver the message. Maybe he didn't think they would comply otherwise, or expects some won't and is establishing the predicate for the firings to come. Perhaps also the opportunity was used to discuss plans for other things going on the world face to face. Whatever the case, I think it's a great thing to enforce high standards for the military.

"comply" with what?
