@Sleepyguy saidI dont know specifics, but their economic plan has always centred around free trade and social equity with a focus on Labor Unions, quality education, lowering the cost of healthcare and building capacity in the economy to improve productivity and real wages growth.
I didn't say I trusted him. I asked what the Democrats had on offer for economic policy. My question was not answered, but was instead deflected to ask what the GOP's economic plan is. I responded with a link of Bessent talking about economic policy. Then I was told I was being lame for only using the word "bad" to describe the crap border bill that didn't pass, so I spoke to that. I don't think anyone answered my question but maybe I missed it.
The problem with these policies are they are met with an unyielding edifice of Ronnie's greatest hits. Gov is the problem. If we give the wealthy more of what they've earned that money will trickle down to all levels of society. Gov needs to keep its hands out of my pocket, taxation is theft, and everyone can and should pull themselves up by their bootstraps...etc...etc....
These are ideas amplified by Americas puritanical past, but ignored by the wealthy who have the influence to have Government stand surety for their bets but have an iron clad expectation that the working classes will not be allowed to become a class of Moochers.
Whatever the specifics any Democrat economic policy will look a lot like Biden's. Money for infrastructure that will keep unemployment down. That idea tracks all the way back to FDR. I would think free education and healthcare (in whatever form that takes) are policy positions whose time has come. And higher taxes. The mood of the country might just be right to embrace proportional taxation. Tax rstes should climb back up to the rates in the 70s. Not in one big jump but gradually. The thresholds need to be set appropriately. And the one thing that America has to start doing is not just balancing its budget, but actually creating surpluses that go to paying down debt. No amount of financial trickery will reduce the interest rates on 10 and 30 year bonds. The debt owed is increasing the risk of America's "risk free" investment no longer being so.
If policy makers simply wring their hands and say nothing can be done, then the feedback loop of creating more debt to pay off current debt is unsustainable.
But what do I know.
@Sleepyguy saidDoes it?
Oh got it. When you said two months "earlier" I time traveled. But the Secure America Act was just a funding bill. No changes to immigration law, right? It seems that kinda makes my point.
If America is under attack like Republicans say, why not create a bill that addresses the crisis once and for all, instead of leaving it up to the current president?
Seems like Republicans want to reuse the border as a campaign point for 2028. IF you eliminate the border crisis permanently with a bill, what will they have left? Men in dresses?
@PuzZuLz saidAnd the Republicans' problem is that all this stuff is NOT "BS".
@paradox4
Hey McHill, prices were just as high or higher with the democrats.
Y'all haven't even put forth any plans other than "Trump is a boogeyman that scares us" 🙄
Also, everyone with a brain knows all midterms go against the sitting president.
Quit acting like a win means anything.
Also, not enough time has passed for people to forget y'all's delusional man ...[text shortened]... ft on crime pansy mentality.
Or the Anti white BS.
Or the open border BS
The list goes on and on.
@PuzZuLz saidYou're as bold as Trump.
Funny how those so called "fact checking" people back then ended up admitting they lied about some things and admitting that they were biased about other things and they aren't around anymore.
Nowadays when fact checking is done it shows the truth and 90 percent of it favors conservative viewpoints about how things are.
That's when people stopped running to the old fact ...[text shortened]... uth.
That's when people stopped demanding the footage so much.
It always proved the stereotype 😄
He lies too. Regardless of the obvious truth. This is why he's circling the drain about now.
@PuzZuLz saidPinhead.
Democrats -"Only 12 more years left because of an ice age!!...I mean global warming!!...what?...oh it's climate change now?.... Only 12 more years left due to climate change!!"
Democrats - "Get the experimental vaccine or we will all die!!"
Democrats - Being masculine is toxic!! Be feminine or we will all die!!"
Y'all are the fear mongers you dolt.
@PuzZuLz saidExcept it's all still true.
@Sprogladog
Trying to shame people into submission by calling them racist or bigot or misogynistic or snowflake doesn't work anymore, y'all used them up.
It just proves you have lost the argument.

@Sleepyguy said"Emergency for years" is a contradiction in terms.
It was an emergency for years that someone FINALLY did something about.
You know better; Congress never ceded to the President the power to indefinitely nullify immigration law just because Fox News says there's an "Emergency".
