You speak of the companies that he holds stock in, like you and I hold stock in companies. You are not speaking about his personal income. I am not sure but you seem to think he should be taxed on value of the stock, and so we would have to be, too. But its value changes daily. I could be taxed on $1M o stock, and then its value drop the next day to $550,000.
The p ...[text shortened]... e,
you instead decide to reduce how many types of cheese are produced. THAT is asking for trouble.
If stocks were as volatile as you seem to think, no reasonable person would invest in them. They are not.

Over 100 years of data, the S & P has averaged a 10% gain per year. https://www.nerdwallet.com/investing/learn/average-stock-market-return

That increased personal wealth that can be used by the holder at any time. Asking those with gains on it to pay taxes on it is supremely "fair".

Every company does a Balance Sheet once a year. It's not like it would be so hard for individuals to do so either.

On what, of the people who have no assets, should there a tax? I’m not being funny. Give them a free ride? Enjoy the fruit of living in this country, but pay nothing. If that were the case, do they still get govt benefits? From whom and how?

Asking for me.

Haven't I already explained to you that every worker pays taxes?

You bloody Americans value success, and you believe in its existence. ...[text shortened]... .

Just don’t let communism fool the liberals!
This guy is clearly speaking about pre-Trump America and hopefully post-Trump America.

Trump's America is solidly toxic.

Income Taxes: Whether a worker owes federal income tax depends entirely on their total income and filing status. Workers earning below the minimum standard deduction threshold do not owe or pay federal income tax, though they may still owe state or local taxes.

Why do I get the feeling you are pulling an issue shift?

Because you have him backed into a corner. 🤓

We are speaking of income taxes, he’ll attempt payroll tax or some such. I hate disingenuous posts. Gotchas, etc.
More to the point, he will not say he is wrong.

Our culture is to do so. Havent seen that particular garb in all these 250 years. Different barnyard, I guess.
George Washington was familiar with Muslim clothing as were every President since.

George Washington:

[The USA is open to] "the oppressed and persecuted of all Nations and Religions," adding that they "may be Mahometans [Muslims], Jews, or Christians of any Sect."

"If they are good workmen, they may be of Asia, Africa, or Europe. They may be Mahometans, Jews, or Christians of any Sect – or they may be Atheists..."

Where did you limit the discussion to an income tax?

You didn't, so the "issue shift" is yours.

Of course. Did His hate and non-patriotic speech go over your head? Didn’t go over mine.

He portrayed America primarily as a nation of contradictions, and emphasize child, hunger, wealth, inequality, and the influence of billionaires in corporations. Yawn yawn. This Ugandan gives very little attention to the country’s accomplishments.. we could start with an U ...[text shortened]... s.

Yeah, I can see why you want our stuff!!!!
It seems quite patriotic to me.

What about people who do work harder than others? Can they prosper well beyond what is prosperity to the people who do not work as hard as they do?
Unfortunately, no.

Mainly because of racist assholes like you, projecting ancient stereotypes.

Ours is the most generous of all countries, so don't get you there.

We are familiar with their closing too, so don't get you there. Imagine a musllim in his really long/heavy white robe crossing the Delaware in that boat.

Income tax. Now get to the issue, please. You fail at shifting.
