Where is that vaccine mandate?
In the case known as Jacobson v. Massachusetts, Jacobson’s lawyers argued that the Cambridge vaccination order was a violation of their client’s 14th Amendment rights, which forbade the state from “depriv[ing] any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” At question, then, was whether the “right to refuse vaccination” was among those protected personal liberties.
The Supreme Court rejected Jacobson’s argument and dealt the anti-vaccination movement a stinging loss. Writing for the majority, Justice John Marshall Harlan acknowledged the fundamental importance of personal freedom, but also recognized that “the rights of the individual in respect of his liberty may at times, under the pressure of great dangers, be subjected to such restraint, to be enforced by reasonable regulations, as the safety of the general public may demand.”

Excuses ?? Lame excuses ??
What am I making an excuse for ??
For getting vaccinated ?
I would think I'd have to make an excuse for not getting vaccinated.
People who have gotten vaccinated are generally upset at those who haven't gotten vaccinated.
Who should be making the excuses here ?
For getting vaccinated ?"
No. Mandates.
There is no logical excuse to mandate vaccines anymore. That will NOT achieve herd immunity. 100% vaccination rates have already failed. Herd immunity is impossible. Get that through your thick skull.
@metal-brain saidYeah. Let us all listen to you.

@metal-brain saidThey are taking intensive care beds in the hospitals though thus edging a young child with leukaemia or a mother with heart disease. They are putting health care workers at risk when they have to treat them.
Now you are making up lame excuses. Those that choose not to vaccinate know the risks. They are not asking anything from you. You need to question those telling you to wear a mask. There is no logical reason for it except to scare people.
That is the real reason they want you to mask up. To create fear. No other reason.
Basically the unvaccinated are narcissistic selfish monsters who should be shunned and socially cordoned until they start giving a tinkers cuss about that society..
@kevcvs57 saidThat is not true.

Stop spreading misinformation.
@eladar saidAnd I'm glad Americans live in such a free country that the cops are free to kneel on your neck till you die. To tell you the truth its like America is being run by a bunch of thugs.
I am glad Australians live in such a free country! Soldiers in the streets enforcing lockdown and making sure those who do not get vaccinated have no right to freedom.
To tell you the truth, it sounds like Australia is being governed by Beijing.
@metal-brain saidIt’s true, and you know it’s true, stop lying your face off, not even a halve sane person here believes a word you say.

90% of the people in the US are vaccinated against the measles. https://www.uspharmacist.com/article/measles-and-the-mmr-vaccine
Is that "herd immunity"? Even if it isn't, measles outbreaks in the US are rare. We have two cases confirmed this year and 13 last year though there were a few outbreaks in 2019 which comprised 1282 cases. Even with that, the average cases in the last 10 years stands around 300 a year. https://www.cdc.gov/measles/cases-outbreaks.html
So vaccines can almost completely eradicate a deadly, contagious disease even if "herd immunity" isn't quite reached.
@no1marauder saidE.q., against polio.
The view that Government should take steps to stop the spread of deadly contagious diseases is hardly something new.
@metal-brain saidWhy do you keep writing 'gene vaccine' like that's a negative thing?
The gene vaccines are NOT vaccines.
They do not stop the spread of the virus.
Yes they are. Yes they do.
@metal-brain saidYes.
Yes, really.
Do you?
I weighed the risk of a negative side effect of the vaccine against the negative outcome of not taking the vaccine.
I took the vaccine.
Of course, I can run the risk of getting salmonella every time I buy a dozen eggs.
That being said, I'll repeat a question to you and the likes of Eladar and others who are expending a lot of time and effort on your anti-mask and anti-vaccine rants and the general downplaying of the COVID pandemic in general.
What is your motivation here ?
What are you hoping to achieve here.
You have been consistently on the wrong side of the argument here from the get go.
You can't possibly be thinking that you are convincing me of anything.
So why do you keep beating your head against a brick wall.
I'll venture a response for you.
I think you, and conservatives in general, are trying to minimize the abject and embarrassing failure of the previous administration to the pandemic.
And working overtime trying to smooth out the bumps in the campaign trail to Trump's return to the White House.
Getting warm ?
Don't waste your efforts on that front.
Your guy will be busy in the courts for a while. 😛
I'm still reeeeeeling from the "on the way" title of this thread. It ignores over 100 years of US History, going back to SCOTUS decisions upholding smallpox vaccine mandates.
We're just going to ignore all that and pretend like this is the first virus and pandemic that ever existed?
@wildgrass saidWhat gets me is that the same people who say that mask mandates take our freedom away have no problem taking away a woman's freedom to decide what happens to her own body.
