The problem is that you accept contradictions without question. You don't care what really happened. If it was a republican you would care out of partisan bias.
What if the same thing happened to Trump? Would you be satisfied with contradictory statements? Of course not. You would want the body cam video released and would make a big stink about it. You know you would.

The man has been charged and he’s made a statement consistent with the narrative that he’s a mega maga nut job on a mission. If that’s BS his legal team will surely drag it out into the light during the trial. How can a cop arriving in the scene know exactly what’s going on or stop this nut job from down swinging a hammer onto an 82 year old man’s head?
What is it that you think is being swept under the carpet and why would the defendant help them sweep it under the carpet. I’m sure he’d get less time for a lovers tiff than he will a politically motivated hate crime.

Crime and accident scenes are chaotic. Things happen fast, people are running around, and getting conflicting reports from people at the scene happens all the time. I'm content to accept that there are aspects of the incident in question that we will likely never have nailed down with certainty. It's a common thing in any kind of situation like this.

That did not happen when the door was opened. That happened after the police were inside. That is a clear contradiction. Didn't you notice that?
