Again....the Court (Alito) is saying it is not an issue that should be before SCOTUS. He is correct.


The saddest part of this whole issue that it is based on (outdated) religious morality.
If this was really about the value of human life, then do something about your gun culture.

Nobody yet, but many states will do so this summer if the Alito opinion stands.

If the Alito opinion stands and Roe is overturned, there are disastrous effects we won't see until about 25 years from now.

There will be a generation of people whose parents either didn't want them or were unable to adequately care for them. These will be children bounced from home to home or raised in foster care, who will be at much higher risks for abuse and neglect, which can in turn result in higher crime rates.

When that happens, conservatives will find a way to blame everyone but themselves for the inevitable spike in crime.

It seems they are leaving the decision up to the states. Texas and Florida will be able outright to ban abortion.

Every liberal who patted themselves on the back for being too good to vote for Hillary are now seeing the results of their inaction.
How amusing that you believe that any HRC nominee could have gotten through a Mitch McConnell Senate, one with larger Republican majorities after the probable debacle in 2018 and 2020.

Given Hillary's extreme unpopularity we'd probably have a Ted Cruz-ish President and a Republican Senate which was filibuster proof.


I'm quite surprised that Chief Justice Roberts publicly admitted the leaked draft was authentic. I expected the SCOTUS to not comment at all or complain about the leak without conceding it was an actual draft opinion.

If it becomes the judgment of the Court, it will really throw a lifeline to Democratic electoral chances this year and in 2024.

And I've read excerpts and it's as anti the Framers' Natural Rights philosophy as could be; the idea that persistent legislative trammelling of a right is relevant to the rights existence is a mind blowing repudiation of those basic American beliefs.

Exactly. Even a crime like murder is adjudicated by whatever state has jurisdiction. Rare is it the feds.
