My feeling is Covid and other diseases have lowered the intelligence of the entire human race down so much they believe anything some assswipe Trump wannabe comes up with. How else can we explain this right wing swing around the entire planet, coinciding with the rise of Covid.

Yes. There does seem to be something going wrong and it does seem to be seeping from the US. I agree.

For these people The Handmaid's Tale is something to work towards not a gruesome horror story.

Oh well, i am not an american and there are worse things happening in the world. I can't get stressed about what americans do to themselves through their apathy or ignorance.

It seems they are leaving the decision up to the states. Texas and Florida will be able outright to ban abortion.

Every liberal who patted themselves on the back for being too good to vote for Hillary are now seeing the results of their inaction.

👍they are probably the ones outside SCOTUS bleating like lambs on a slaughterhouse train.
On ejection day you either vote for the least worst option or you get the worst option.
When you think how safe US democracy and civil society would be right now if Hilary had filled those SCOTUS seats

Funny Shav. Fact is, the leak has been determined to give steam to the democrats to ride into the November elections. This forum will now be full of libs bantering without thinking. You fellers will say the court would stop abortions. No, that is not what they will say. It would say each state would decide about abortions. Not the federal government. Everyone will always be able to get an abortion. And people like me will pay for it.
Whew. I doubt I will chime in with these discussions. What a waste of time. Get ready to hear the jester and suzy and Sonhouse. For me, I will go play golf.

Yes, SCOTUS would render decisions to get everyone in line, to all be the same. When this is a country full of diversity.
Pitiful.

That would be correct, since it is not a constitutional issue. So why is everyone with all the signs 'in the street' hollering at SCOTUS? Why don't the signs say 'Abortion is None Of Your Business!"

Keep in mind that the state of, say, Mississippi, might have a different perspective than say, North Dakota, of whether to allow abortions in their states?

So the states decide. What has SCOTUS got to do with it? A real head scratcher.

That is actually a very astute point.

Aside from whether it's good policy, this decision is a disaster for the Republican party. The GOP was poised to clean up in November, but this will hurt. It will galvanize the left, while doing little to galvanize the right.

I've always been very ambivalent on the issue. I can truly see both sides. But where we are right now as a society, outlawing abortion (in any state) doesn't seem workable or smart.

We have bigger fish to fry, but are spending all political capital on this. It's pointless and dangerous.

Trump was elected two years before COVID, and taken seriously only in the USA. This is not a problem of 'the entire human race'.
