@soothfast Your fragile, rigid, and deeply flawed worldview will just have to take the hit on this one.πππ Fragile rigid lol. Trying so hard, got tongue tied and was unable to address the point of forcing people to pay for their competition to have an unfair advantage. A double whammy, taking resources from them isn't enough, you want to use those same resources to stomp them all the way in the ground, literally forcefully sacrificing them to your dream feelings.

@wajoma saidπ€ shocking before you know it rabid right wing Randian’s will be giving examples of socialism that are not socialism, then shooting them down.
Capitalism is private ownership so there can be no:
"...US military to force smaller, weaker Latin American countries..."
ATY gives examples that aren't capitalism, calls them capitalism, then shoots them down. It's known as straw manning.
Neither of you pipe dreamers are addressing the fact that your ideal notion of capitalism never has and never will exist.
You cannot have an economic system based on self interest and self interest alone without producing monopolies and a melting together of capital and authority..
@kevcvs57 saidCapitalism in it's purest form exists all over the world. I never mentioned 'socialism' just pointed out how tyranical state owned grocery stores are and how innocent, honest business people get crushed under the wheels sacrificed to the collective. But now you mention it, state owned grocery stores are the definition of socialism. Who'd have thought the US is becoming the new North Korea, how many thousands will be sacrificed this time.

@wajoma saidYou should see a 'grocery store' in Cuba. Maybe google it, their shelves have only about 8 diff things for sale, I kid you not.

Small example from a website
Other basics — rice, beans, sugar, eggs, and chicken come from the neighborhood ration store and butcher. Cubans still use a food rationing system the government has run since Che Guevara first set it up in 1962. Shoppers bring their libreta or ration book to the grocery store for their basic ration of rice, eggs, beans, and other staples bought at a subsidized price, for about $2 a month.
The rations are meager for an entire family—only five eggs for the month means an average weekend breakfast in an American home would wipe out a Cuban’s monthly allotment.
The 10 kilograms (kg) or 22 pounds of rice explains the rotund nature of many older Cubans. In addition, every month a Cuban can buy 6 kg of white sugar, 2 kg of brown sugar, 1 cup of cooking oil, and a single packet of coffee per person per month. Every 10 days a Cuban can buy 2 kg of chicken and every three months a bag of salt. Milk is provided only for pregnant women and children under 7 ye
@averagejoe1 saidThose houses most certainly were not built by rich people! Probably they were built by Mexicans, rednecks, maybe Irish immigrants...something like that.
No one will understand this rambling, but I might point out that your subject matter mentions 'housing'. Who built the houses, Thousand? They are not just sitting there or growing on trees. So your premise is lacking.
If a guy owns 100 acres, he can farm it or stare at it or build 200 houses on it. He may sell them, or keep them to entertain guests. This has noth ...[text shortened]... n what this man does.
Tell us, what would you call a government that would step in and do that?
"Owning 100 acres" simply means the government acknowledges your ownership and will use force to defend it. As soon as you talk about "owning" that much territory you immediately bring in the government implicitly because nobody can naturally/personally own that much territory.
One person can farm 3-10 acres depending on how good their equipment is, what they are planting and what the terrrain is like.

Got any specifics?
@averagejoe1 saidWhat am I cracked up to be?
I'm thinking Thousand is not what he is cracked up to be. A lot of superfluous vacuum.
@wajoma saidThe fruit companies privately owned fruit orchards all through Central America.

Private ownership by definition means that the government acknowledges ownership, nothing more or less.
Again, you have a "no true Scotsman" view of capitalism.
@athousandyoung saidUhhhhhhh, can someone,, in a serious vein, please....tell us what this person is 'trying to say', because he says nothing.

@athousandyoung saidhahaha. He asks US for specifics?!?!??Capitalism in it's purest form exists all over the world

@averagejoe1 saidI already offered several specific examples and Wajoma just said "that's not capitalism". But she says capitalism exists all over the world. So she should provide specific examples.

@athousandyoung saidDebating you requires tag-team, so allow me to provide that which you asked for. Stock exchange, for instance, is quite specific.

You could have googled this yourself? My granny pulled it up for me.
@averagejoe1 saidI need to see if Wajoma accepts this as "pure capitalism"

The website you reference also has the MIC as an example.

3. The Military Industrial Complex
Generally, in order to sustain the private industries feeding the military, the government needs to keep putting in orders for more and more stock. Meanwhile, lobbyists approach government trying to establish more investment contracts from the government.
I doubt Wajoma would accept the MIC as "pure capitalism" especially as it is described above as based on government orders and lobbyists.
@averagejoe1 saidSo what's your fuβcking solution?
Please close your first sentence by telling us why the privateers will not go ‘into that market’ with their goods and services? Like, maybe they are ‘rigid’ about running a business in a high crime area. Would you? Run a biz in a high crime area?
Your post is a not-post. I just hate it for you, all that time wasted pecking it out.
