@cheesemaster saidIt's not preaching, it's observing facts. You're calling it preaching because you consider facts as open to debate, as a matter of opinion.
Romania and its people can't preach to the world how a country or its people should be π
Romania is one of the poorest and corrupt countries in Europe.
I could tell you i would rather live in Romania than the US but you can't comprehend that. You would think i am lying because obviously everybody is jealous of the US and americans, everybody is filled with envy at what you got.
FREEDOM!!
Btw, it took me 15 minutes to vote last time, in full Covid epidemic. How long were the lines there again?

@earl-of-trumps saidDems just want to make the US like Europe.
Agree.
That does not mean the dems won't do both.
The US was created to be something different from Europe. The US was created to be a society free of government micromanagement.
Too bad the US is finally making our fight for indepence into a Revolution, ending up right where we were.
@sh76 saidSure, if you think that the country has no problems needing solutions, a deadlocked government which will do virtually nothing is great.
I believe, is what happened. A narrow Biden win and GOP control of the Senate.
Moreover, my guess is that this is what Biden secretly hoped for as well.
If he'd swept into power on a Blue Wave, he'd have been enormously pressured to go for single payer healthcare, ban fracking, pack the Court, heavily jack up income taxes, etc.
Now, he can govern as a centrist. He can f ...[text shortened]... of the American people. This idea was marked in Biden's statesman-like address yesterday afternoon.
The idea that Moscow Mitch and the Republicans are going to be conciliatory or accomodating on anything is a pipe dream.

Sir - Though I agree with the bulk of your post, I'd like to point out that the affordable care act was a sincere attempt to bring healthcare to millions who could not afford it, and not an attempt at "cramming a leftist agenda down the throats of the American people" I apologize if it disrupted some in the upper middle class like yourself but contrary to the chatter of Mitch McConnell, there are millions of Americans who cannot simply call up their friendly insurance man and purchase some handy healthcare coverage, nor is medical bankruptcy always a convenient alternative. So, please stop painting Democrats as Marxist thugs.
@mchill saidIt is astonishing that such a rich developed country as the USA can land a probe onto a moving asteroid and recover surface samples, yet it cannot implement something so mundane and obviously beneficial as a national health care system.

@moonbus saidThat means 5% tax going to 15% tax.

I know...I'm Canadian.
Our hospital waiting rooms are filled with old people who just want some attention π
People like me who never go to the hospital get taxed.
41 years and counting!
I want my money back!

@moonbus saidAmerica is no longer "We the People" it is "We the Fortune 500"

"We" keep the money out of the hands of the widows and orphans, and into the hands of the insurance companies and hedge fund managers who (for a fee) know how best to manage it. π
