@kevcvs57 said"My problem is that Biden is, and always has been, a centrist"
Well the simple fact that the Dems are not getting the senate will mean that they will have to negotiate with the senate which means any laws or programmes that survive that process will be centrist by definition.
My problem is that Biden is, and always has been, a centrist and would have dulled any left edge initiatives anyway.
The fact that you fail to see the logic or illogic of a statement, claim or argument has been evident for a while now.
He has never been a centrist. That is your faulty logic. Biden is so far to the right he is no less a republican than Trump.
Biden cannot be moved to the left after he gets elected when he wouldn't do it before. It is an absurd assertion.
@metal-brain saidSorry, Trump says he's a socialist.

Everyone can't have their own way on this.
Obama was a moderate, and Biden is also a moderate. That's their own label for themselves and if you don't like it, that's just too bad. They're moderates, end of story.
@shavixmir saidEurope is nice. I've lived there. But it's like living inside an attractive painting. There is a vitality that is missing. One gets the feeling that once Europeans settle on the proper curb-to-street angle and paint one more mural - that will be it. Nothing will ever change again.
Sorry about that.
I can’t help it that Europe’s the greatest place in the world.
I prefer America. It's not as clean, not as neat. Everybody is always trying to invent something new to sell you. Or doing something weird and annoying.
But hey. It feels... free.
@sonhouse - Is there some huge problem with Americans just starting to work together again,
translation: "Now that we have won back power, let's cooperate"
The Israelis offered peace, too... as soon as they won all the land - and not a minute before.
Hey Sonhouse, it is *your* party that has sewn divisions in america, and don't ever forget it. Pitting blacks against whites, rich against poor, for years now.
Hilary calling us "basket of deplorables"
Obama calling us "bitter clingers"
Biden calling us 'Those chumps"
I'd have a better chance lying down in a cobra pit.

@metal-brain saidWell I guess that depends on where you place the point of your political compass.

I’m going to label that a wilful misconception because I don’t like calling someone a liar. And I’m relaxing in the warm blue glow coming from the CNN election results coverage.
@shavixmir saidAnd the fact that Trump lost the presidency proves it was never the dictatorship that you d'heads said it was
Which obviously means it is not a communist State.
Dude, sometimes you’re so stupid you make trump sound like Einstein.
@metal-brain saidHe's eliminating Trump's tax cuts, isn't he?

Yup, plenty of inventors, too, in South Korea. When was the last time we heard of an invention coming from North Korea?
@spruce112358 saidEurope clean?

Have you been to England, France, Belgium or Italy?
A vitality missing???
Have you ever breakfasted in solitude in the Alps, followed the route Napoleon to Cannes for a lunch surrounded by millionaires, Ferraris and Armani and then driven to the Italian Riviere (what a route!) to have an evening filled with screaming Italian waiters, wine and old people randomly getting up and singing?
No vitality missing at all, thank you very much.
@ashiitaka saidI didn't predict a "landslide win" which is usually considered a margin of 10% or more. I predicted a 5% win and with Biden getting about the same Electoral College votes as Trump got in 2016 - which was certainly not a "landslide".
Flawed? Yes. Worthless? No.
You risked nothing with your prediction. Like many others, you predicted a landslide win for a superior candidate with a rather large poll lead. When I made my prediction about the states, you might have been polite, but in truth you were thinking "this silly kid is going to be humiliated".
I'm not American and I've never set foot in the ...[text shortened]... ed away at the last second.
I would tell you to be gracious but that seems to go without saying.
Actually I did risk something with my prediction - US dollars. I made a few wagers besides the one with you. Some I gave odds on.

Not exactly a "radical" position.

@earl-of-trumps saidYes, it appears Trump lost the vote, but he hasn't left yet. Many a dictator simply annulled an election and stayed in power until a disgruntled military deposed him.

The essential thing about democracy is not how people get into power, but how they get out.
Wait and see whether Trump acts like a) a president and b) an adult, concedes defeat and leaves gracefully, or whether he has to be dragged out, kicking and screaming.
@no1marauder saidI see that Joe Biden has finally won for sure. Congratulations on winning the wager.

You may select a charity of your choice, and when I am able, I will donate $25 as promised.
