Rather than debate ad nauseum issues which seem to boil down to faith and reason and which will never be resolved, I invite people to take a break from their epistemological struggles and get in volved in matters of pure taste. As such I would like to open a book club here on RHP. If anyone would like to take part say so and I shall suggest a book title, then a week later (or longer depending on opinion) we shall reconvene to discuss the book and offer critique on it. Others who have read the book are also free to join in of course.

Excellent idea!
So, what is to be our first book for discussion (could you please make sure it's one I've read so that I don't have to go to all the effort of finding a copy and reading).

Once a week? I hope you're not assigning War And Peace or anything like that.

Is this going to be classic fiction or modern fiction?

Is it going to be fiction at all?

Let us begin with Leviticus, from the King James Version of the Holy Bible.

I have a friend from college who bought a Bible for a religion course. At the end of the semester, he returned it! Just like any old textbook. LOL.

OK, I have a second idea.

Read The Communist Manifesto, by Karl Marx, and Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand.
Identify all, if any, existing conflicts between the ideas presented in each. Also,
say which author is right, and why.

Oi! This was my idea you purveyor of erratic medical drawings! 🙂

I was thinking fiction, classic or modern. I'd be happy to go with popular opinion about genre.

I'm not buying or stealing or helping circulate any library copies of anything by Ayn Rand.

Who is John Galt?
There is a spectre haunting Europe...

Let's read Faulkner--Absalom, Absalom would be a good start, as most of the characters seem to have accounts at RHP.

I'm finished.

My answer is: There are no conflicts and Marx was right because he wasn't female.

Did I pass?

EDIT - After reviewing my answer, I would like to change it. If there are no conflicts between the ideas presented then one cannot be more correct than the other. Did I pass now, Doc?
