I could taste the deja vu. All that was missing was John Bolton's mustache.

We're not likely to see a month's long search for Ayatollah Khamenei like we did for Saddam, as Khamenei is likely already dead. But all this talk about the IRGC just laying down their weapons and getting amnesty is just empty words. The hardliners will remain.

Venezuela was a PR stunt; the same people minus Maduro are still in charge. The US is getting its hands on some of their oil, which seems to have been Trump's primary motivation.
