I wouldn't even call it regrettable.

Not for Ukraine.

We could learn from this example.
Ain't THAT the truth.

Talking of truth, and just as an aside, really, even the the most ardent Trump supporters must concede that Mister Trump is an itinerant and habitual liar; this has been proved countless times. He appears to say whatever comes into his head, or whatever it was that the last person said to him, regardless of its' accuracy or otherwise. ('They're eating the cats, they're eating the dogs' ) So much so, that we have reached the extraordinary situation where nobody expects him to speak the truth any more. Lies, damned lies, and Mister Trump....

The Russians felt themselves provoked by the steady eastward march of NATO after the reunification of Germany, for example, into Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. I don’t think the West is entirely innocent in this affair, but that was still no justification for Russia to invade Ukraine. Furthermore, bombarding civilian infrastructure is a clear violation of international law in the conduct of war.
My neighbor @AverageJoe1 indicated that he wanted to join a country club. πŸ˜†

I told him this was intolerable. I hate golf. Further, I felt provoked. What if he achieved more access to prominent individuals than me? Then my interests could be threatened. What if he and his buddies attacked me? So I considered my options.

First, I issued a strongly worded communique indicating that his joining would destabilize the entire neighborhood. Then I told him to reconsider his irresponsible actions since threats to my security would meet with swift reprisals which would be entirely his fault. When he did not react, I flew several drone missions over his kids as they were waiting at the bus stop. He protested through the UHOA, but I and 4 other neighbors (out of 197) have veto power over UHOA resolutions (since we own the largest houses), so his efforts failed.

THEN, I overheard him in the yard speaking with his wife saying, "I'm gonna join that CC - I don't care what spruce thinks."

His car and half his house are still smouldering. Arrogant bastard. Why doesn't he just acknowledge my legitimate interests and follow my instructions? πŸ˜†

A bit of history has been declassified, about assurances given to Gorbachev by several Western leaders, that NATO would not expand eastwards, if Gorbachev would not oppose German reunification:

Libs confuse, on purpose, lying with negotiating. Watch an expert, kids. You should know that he will get the minerals. He will win the tariff gambit....he is only asking for fairness (truth, Sue??), he is just so smart and y'all are throwing everything at him.. If I were. dependent reliant liberal i might whine myself.
It is quite clear he and Musk want to shrink government. Y'all like a lot of government. We get it!!!!@

He doesn't have to be smarter than the rest of us. He only has to be smart in his chosen fields of negotiating, economics, building things, delegating, governing, balancing balls in the air, doing 20 things at once, being miles ahead of No1Maruader.

The guy who thinks other countries pay for tariffs is "smart" about economics? A first week student in ECO 101 knows better than that.

To low information, uneducated persons like yourself, grifters like Trump seem "smart" when they appeal to your prejudices and hate. But that doesn't change the fact he's incredibly shallow with little actual knowledge of any of those fields.

Lying is lying; if you think that lying is a good negotiating tactic then here ends the conversation. The rest of your post has nothing to do with my observation.

nooooooo, I don't think a student knows more about the ins-and-outs as does Trump, where are you getting that??? πŸ€”

He's done well for himself, knows the game, so to speak. How do you think he has been so successful? Luck i guess, has a lot to do with it. Yeah, luck.

Analogies, my specialty.
Will answer simply, if I may.
What you think about what I do is irrelevant to you, me, and to the world. Think away, as you have nothing to do with what I do. Where do I sign at the Club? Dont get you there.
Your 2nd paragraph, the part of being offeennnnndded, is all about your sitting in your back yard steaming! You are so upset...like I get when your son tries to get on my daughter's swim team??? (except yours physically harms my daughter)

So, to your communique to the neighborhood, and your asking me to NOT join the Club for reasons of your own. We will stipulate here that I am breaking no law. Further, since there is an understanding on the Forum that all premises of discussion are legal actions, that therefore you may fly your drones.
So, the UHOA has no authority (no jurisdiction), and if you are legal with the drones, I can do nothing except whine like a faerie from New Jersey. I can do nothing about the drones, I would not whine to the UHOA. I could only move away, or listen to your drones.
Now I am DEFINITELY going to join the Club!!! That is end of story, I guess;

Your last question is curious, indeed. Of course, as I stated above, i would not care what you think, as it does not concern me, I would consider you a sensitive liberal who thinks we are all one happy family blah blah. I would keep my distance and hope you don't burn my house down. If you accosted me on the sidewalk about your ' legitimate' interests, I might respond..'what makes you think that they are legitimate, that I May or May NOT threaten you? " You, a neighbor, make decisions about MY life?
I know you are being funny, but this does go on. I do hope it would be illegal for you to carry a sign on my street saying "STOP JOE IN COUNTRY CLUB", because if it were not illegal, and if you were not violating common law, nuisance, whatever, I could not do a thing about it!@!!!!!

Daddy handing him $150 million sure helped.

lying when negoritating has wide prameters. Google it, I will pass on all that. What lies are white lies!?!? What about 'reliance thereon'. If lying were verboten then why would there be such concepts as reliance thereon? Uh huh.

you can do better than that, that is a suzianne canned answer , pulls it out every month or so. Do you think that the government should get his money, since it was inherited? Some of you do indeed. Eliz Warren, for instance
