And that is the standard for a lot of agencies, like get a drivers license, see how long you wait in line because they are way understaffed.
Trump and Muskrat don't give a rats ass about people, how long you are in line for some agency or other they just went in with a wild elephant and started chopping jobs willy nilly with ZERO forthought.
BTW, firing people is not the way to get more efficient government. The way to do that is to eliminate piles of regulations restricting how things are done, resulting in such deals as thousand dollar toilet seats for the military and such.
Just firing people won't get you to that 2 trillion dollar savings they are after.
Don't know what the average wage is in government but lest call it 20 bucks an hour. So some agency has 100,000 workers, Say 40,000 a year in wages each, so one thousand, 40 million a year, even if you fired ALL of them you are still under a trillion, but you can't just eliminate ALL government jobs unless you are insane.

A company, say Indonesia, pays their workers what, 5 bucks an hour to build a widget we need to make cars.
So Trump goes, lets build widget plants here, But now we pay those workers say 25 dollars an hour.
Tell me how that is going to make for cheaper goods here in the US?
The answer: IT WON'T, the world is 100% diversified, country A makes a widget we use to make cars or computers, country B make the tools we use to put together the widgets into some product.
WE CAN'T MAKE ALL OF THOSE widgets.
And if we do, the cost for consumers would more likely double or triple.
But hey, Trump is as he says, a STABLE GENIUS.
